Billy-Bob securing the SE corner

From BufordP: "I call him Billy-Bob because his name is Bill and I keep calling him Bob. Or is it the other way around. I keep forgetting. So I call him Billy-Bob just to be safe.

"Billy-Bobbity-Bill is a regular at Trooprally's Saturday Freeps in Olney, MD. And he can always be counted to show for Walter Reed.

Freeping in Silence: "I have two metal thingys and I know how to ... do things with 'em!"

From Mr Trooprally: "With BMWcyle running late, I took up the positions of 'Burma Shave Sign Protecter'. BMWcyle has done such a good job on previous Fridays, my job was easy. Just sit and smoke the cigars that BufordP brought. No 'cheap' Garcia y Vegas tonight.

"It was quiet though. Not realizing I would be filling in for BMWcyle, there was no music to listen to and iritate the Pinkos. Bruce did get out his guitar, but I couldn't hear anything because he had no amplifier.

"One Pinko, who never held a sign, just walked around and smoked his cigarettes, took my picture. He was fun to watch. When he first set up, a pedistrian walk down the street between us. He was in no rush, so the Pinko stood there for a few minutes till he passed. Then, when he finally took my picture, he snatched up his tripod with such an arrogant 'Got Your Picture' attitude, that I chuckled out loud.

"I also had fun watching Citizen Smash talking to the Pinkos. The Pinko minder hung close to Smash. Smash spent most of his time (probably 45 minutes or more) talking to Large Marge. We may have to change her name because the Pinkos roving 'diet' is actually working for her.

"Several FReepers came down to watch with me and keep me company. They

stayed till 9 when the Pinkos left. So I had plenty of helpers to gather up the Burma Shave signs. Thanks to you all for the help.

Smash likes to go down and "dialog" with the pinkos. I don't suppose he talks with them because he actually believes he can get through to them. Make them reconsider their vigil. So many Walter Reed patients in the past have spoken with these people and told them in no uncertain terms that the soldiers do NOT appreciate what they do. That hasn't worked.

Find out why Smash talks to the pinkos by checking out his blog.

After learning from fellow warrior Isaac that the commies gave $650G to the insurgents in Fallujah, WR Warriors Andrew, Keith and P.D. also went down to have a chat with the Pinkos. They got the usual runaround from Bruce and Weasel.

"iluvgeorgie" (below right) was visiting the nation's capital from Wisconsin. She wanted to do this before embarking on her career, which begins Friday. She decided to take a break from sightseeing to stand with us at Walter Reed and visit with our wounded warriors.

"What about Darfur?"

Boing! Goes the conversation in another direction.

"You're killing us in Darfur!"

tgslTakoma was essentially dumbfounded by Victor. As were the rest of us.

Victor, a passerby, first decided he was going to join us because, "Hey, we all want to support the troops even if we hate the war. You got ta respect everybody's opinions. We all gots opinions and ya gotta respect that."

I asked him if he was okay with Hitler's, Osama's, Saddam's, David Duke's opinions.

I means you got ta respect that?

Here we come,
walkin' down the street.

We get the funniest looks from
Ev'ry one we meet.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees!

Late in the evening we had an encounter with a drunken Bush-hater driving a Ford Crown Vic. I was on the SW corner when it happened. He stopped his car in front of the MOAB on the NE corner and got into a shouting match with JVB. You'll have to get the straight scoop from him later. All I know is the jerk wanted to know something about what the Bush twins were doing as in "why weren't they fighting in Iraq". He real jewel he was.

When the bus finally came, it was loaded with more kids than before. There were also numerous ballons. It is really tough in the darkness for the D.C. Chapter's photo Department to get inside bus pictures of the wounded and their families. But to have them, and the kids, gleefully wave back is just about the most rewarding thing I've ever experienced."

Please say a few choice words to the Pinko's for em next week. I think you have a good idea of what to tell them.

Thanks for FReeping them.

Great job on the after-action report -- we should call upon your skills more often!

Hey, I really am very happy that you compiled all of the Walter Reed after-action reports in one place. I have linked your efforts on the main page of the DC Chapter's website and on all the calendar posts. Thank you for sharing this list.

HUGS

Marvelous report, Buford! Thank you for putting it together.

My only question... why no music for the "Hey, hey, we're the Monkees..." photo?

Running away now...

Hey, maybe she'll be able to fit into those exploding pink pedal pushers. Or maybe she's just wearing looser pants and they make her look slimmer.

Good work and thank you all.
Smash is a vet dealing with the pinkos.
Some of us FReepers join Smash and the Protest Warriors
here in San Diego counter the code pinkos over a period of time near the Naval Medical Center here.
Thank you all again.
