Among the celebrities journeying to Connecticut to support Ned Lamont's campaign to unseat Sen. Joseph Lieberman (now running as an independent, having lost the Democratic primary to Lamont) is Michael Schiavo, known around the world as the husband who finally succeeded in having the feeding tube removed from his late wife, Terri Schiavo.
Schiavo pointedly reminded Connecticut voters that Sen. Lieberman has supported the president and Congressional Republicans in passing emergency legislation involving federal courts in an attempt to save Terri Schiavo's life while he, Michael Schiavo, was respecting her wishes which she could no longer communicate to die.
Connecticut voters were not informed that Democrats as well as Republicans were in favor of intervention by federal courts including Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa, who is deeply knowledgeable about disability rights.
Nor, of course, did Schiavo, while on the hustings, mention that when the feeding tube was removed, Terri Schiavo was not terminal, was breathing naturally on her own and, according to several of the neurologists who had examined her (others disagreed), was not in a persistent vegetative state. And not only her parents and siblings witnessed that though she could not speak, Terri was responsive.

(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
If Michael Schiavo insists on campaigning against Republicans (see last paragraph), those Republicans should tell voters the real facts of this case. The public sides with Schiavo, and if he insists on involving himself in politics, his reputation needs to be, deservedly, destroyed.
BTTT
That is SO true!
I seriously question how the whole issue was handled, and also, I hope that mr Schiavo has night sweats for the rest of his sorry (ahem) life with regards for how he treated his wife.
That said, once you opened the door to legal murder (abortion) you opened pandora's box for infirm murder and also elder murder - legally sanctioned of course.
I've got family that have "dying wills" that specify their wishes. I may not agree with them, but I will honor them.
It seems that dredging up the JonBenet story again, with a bogus perp (but one who is suspected of being guilty of something else) wasn't enough for the liberals.
Now they are dragging Terri Schiavo back into the mix?
Desperate MSM, or just bored liberals?
Enough deceit.
Enough distractions.
Enough is Enough already.
Think Terry's Fight does not affect, or apply, to you?
Psuedoblogged in real time, in the meatspace, as it happened.
Read, and weep:

"In my time of trial,
Jesus, plead for me..."
Thnak G-d for those who protested and stood against this murder and against the vile perversion of our government so as to carry the murder through.
Hentoff ping!
I remember. I wept. I sat up all night watching the entrance to that 'hospice' on the webcam, praying an ambulance would come and remove Terri - but nothing came.
I won't forget, ever, how much of your heart you put into your efforts to compile the information and keep us all updated as to what was going on.
Thank you backhoe for all you do. May Terri rest in peace and may that evil gang that murdered her spend eternity in hell. What I wish for Michael I dare not put into words.
Fred Nerks, I greatly appreciate you words of kindness, and words of support. Some of my thoughts and motives on this painful subject are here:

Miles to go
Promises to keep
I feel so vindicated in this matter. This creep in an even bigger POS than we all thought. His wife's death was just a steppingstone for his political career. What a total *ick.
Now if they'd only let Kervorkian out! What a splendid one-two punch for Ned Lament, Claire McKaskiller and Wombscraper Webb that would be.
I wonder what would have happened if someone had (while Terri was alive) proposed legislation in Florida that would make Michael Schiavo immune from prosecution or lawsuits for a wide range of possible things he might have done in the Terri Schiavo affair, including attempted murder, embezzlement, etc., provided that he surrendered guardianship of Terri to her parents, and provided that Terri lived for some duration after that.
If Michael hadn't done anything wrong (as his supporters claim), such a law wouldn't have any bad effect. If he had done something wrong, however, he might have decided that it would be wiser to accept the immunity than to kill Terri and hope that his skeletons would remain closeted. Felos et al. would have been very unhappy if Michael were given immunity but they were not, but they would have had no authority to prevent Michael from surrendering guardianship.
Oh well, too late now in any event.
He's the South pole of the moral compass.
