Don't expect any rational thought from the psychotic antitobacco zealots. Self righteous judgmental hatred is their drug, and they stay hopped up on it 24/7.

And don't we all know it!

I'm just getting back on line after my second phone line went out last night....I'm playing catch up.......

I was wondering about you and was hoping you and your family were ok.  How rough did it get for you?

Once upon a time, so was pot. Right up until it wasn't.

Pot was never legal in MY lifetime!

Oh come on!. Pot is very illegal.
And cigarettes soon will be.

Wish on.

Cigarettes have been around for over hundreds of years
Pot has been around for thousands of years. It didn't become illegal until 1937.

You must miss it!

At least if a cop stops me and finds cigarettes in my purse, I don't have the worry of being arrested.
That will soon change. You will be considered a criminal exactly the same as any other drug addict.

Dream on little boy.

You are outraged because your right to smoke cigarettes is under attack. I don't smoke cigarettes or pot, yet I defend your right to smoke cigarettes and xhrist's right to smoke pot.

My right to smoke cigarettes where I live is NOT under attack.  People smoke freely up here.  The lawmakers forced Maine to go smoke free in private businesses and the work places.  But other then that, we are still free to smoke.  No one up here gives a fig if people smoke or not.  At least in northern Maine, we don't have the tight asses the rest of you must live around! heh!

I lost my main garden and my herb garden - I haven't been able to get to the berries because there is so much water....but I'm one of the lucky ones. The flooding has been really bad, and a lot of people I know are still without power. And one house just down the road had a tree come down on it.

"How about they cure lung cancer and heart disease, so everyone can get high and smell like shit just like the good old 1950's!"

God I loved the fifties---smoke everywhere and lots of good booze and no white wine in sight.

"Pot was never legal in MY lifetime!"

True or not, it's irrelevant. His point remains.

All of that said, I don't favor outlawing tobacco. I just stay away from it if I can, and tolerate it when I can't.

I don't agree with most of what you said, but your above statement I respect.  There is room in this world for all of us.  And when we leave our homes, we are out among the public.  The good, the bad, the ugly AND the smoker.

We just have to pick our spots that we are most comfortable in.  But for the government to go in and tell private business owners how to run it, that is down right wrong!

No, you just don't like the smell of tobacco and so to you it smells bad.........to others it does not.

I second that!

The study is bogus and the MA Dept. of Public health is all wet.

People smoke cigarettes, not machines. The fact that the cigarette smoking machine owned by the department is able to deliver more nicotine from cigarettes than a few years ago, is irrelevant.

The actual smoker naturally compensates for greater or lesser nicotine delivery by drawing on a cigarette longer or deeper, or shorter and shallower, if he needs more or less nicotine.

The idea that low-tar smokes are less harmful than a Pall Mall is just false.

I still think that most smoker don't know how they smell to non-smokers (not that they should care, but the smell of a smoker, even when not smoking really isn't pleasant to non-smokers. Smokers, on the other hand, probably don't notice it.)

Well, I smoke.  And to me there is nothing better then a clean man with the hint of after shave and tobacco.  I find it heavenly and manly.

Even when my hubby worked as a mechanic on military vehicles, and come home smelling of gasoline and oil and he would grab me and kiss me, I still found him very sexy, smoke, gasoline and oil smells and all.  That is what made up "my man" and I loved every bit of it!

OMG! Did you ever lose power?  I'm thankful to hear your home is ok as well as the you and the family.  Storms like that are so frightening.

Heck, before I turned 18, sneaking cigarettes and having an occasional 3.2 beer was the highlight of our week-ends.  LOL

Oh yes, cigarettes in the vending machines on the corner cost 38 cents.  The pack would drop out with 2 pennies in it for change. heheh!

You want to know what smell "I" can't stand and really turns me off?  BEER BREATH.

Gawd, even when hubby drank beer, I could barely stand it.  But I never said anything to him.  Because like I said, I loved him, and he loved to drink beer.  And I refused to deprive him of it just because "I" didn't like the smell.

I bet there are a lot of others in here that can't stand beer breath either, but who are we to tell them they can't drink it?  Not ME!!!!  A lot of my friends love beer.  And I respect that!
