Note that we put the word "leak" in quotation marks, because it's clear now there was no leak at all, just idle talk, and certainly no smear campaign against Joseph Wilson for criticizing President Bush's Iraq policy.

This is exactly what conservatives have said about this since the whole kerfuffle began. It's long past due that the MSM, with all its "professional journalists" finally caught up to us.

And they wonder why they are losing subscribers and viewers at a record pace. We could tell them . . . . . .

The new DNC/media spin is that Rove/Cheney/Libby had already done their damage maliciously leaking Plame's name, so Armitage's leak was just an innocent little mistake with no harm intended and no damage done. They're not going to toss Armitage to the sharks - he's their pal, a fixture on the DC cocktail party circuit that makes up the universe they all dwell in.

The whole thing stinks, and I look forward to the announcement that charges are dropped and Libby will file a defamation of character lawsuit against Armitage, the media, etc.

If he does, I hope he doesn't stop there and goes after Fitzgerald for malicious prosection. Fitzgerald should be disbarred and stripped of his law license, and should never set foot in a court room again, except as a defendant.

Informative article by Fred Barnes. I wonder if Fitzgerald's knowledge that Libby was not the leaker and proceeded to investigate him anyway falls under the legal charge of entrapment. I hope the Bush administration smart guys have a plan in progress to turn this 3 years of deceit and lying into a wholesale indictment, on any kind of legal grounds, of all of the participants involved. Let the RATS and their extended media families twist and turn and run up huge legal fees, guilty or not. Probably just wishful thinking on my part but I do not understand the subtleties of turning the other cheek for these notorious liar's. This is political gamesmanship and turn about is certainly warranted. Republicans gain nothing from playing the role of the aggrieved and put upon.

Fitzgerald spent years and a HUGE PAYROLL "investigating" what any beat cop in America could have determined in a day. Valerie Plame was NOT A COVERT CIA AGENT at the time of the "outing" and has now been revealed, Fitzgerald has known for three years who was responsible for the "outing."
