He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said. It is understood he was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest.
He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary and that's when it occured.

I always had a feeling one of the critters he's p*ssed off over the years would get him in the end... - The crazy bastage.
He had a wife and a little girl, I feel very bad for them.

He wanted to bring the wonder of nature to the masses in a way that was entertaining. Whether he did it wisely is debatable.
Nonetheless, his loss is a tragedy. May he rest in peace.

Every thing we do in life has risk. Some things have more risk than others. Do them often enough and long enough and the risk statistics will have their way with you.
Sad to hear this, but not surprised.

Doesn't sound like this one was high risk, even given the results.

The crazy guy will be missed. This really doesn't surprise the world. At least he lived life to the fullest...

If this is true then it's awful. Give this one day and it will be Bush's fault.
