ABC plans to make minor changes to its docudrama on the run-up to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in response to heated complaints from former Clinton administration officials that a number of scenes are fabricated, a network executive said yesterday.
Thomas H. Kean, the Republican who chaired the 9/11 commission and is a co-executive producer of the film, said in an interview that he recently asked for changes that would address complaints raised by the former aides to President Bill Clinton and that ABC is considering his request.
"These are people of integrity," Kean said of the filmmakers. "I know there are some scenes where words are put in characters' mouths. But the whole thing is true to the spirit of 9/11."
The ABC executive said the "adjustments and refinements" are "intended to make clearer that it was general indecisiveness" by federal officials that left the country vulnerable to terrorist attacks, "not any one individual."
The executive, who requested anonymity because the network is making only written comments, said small revisions have been underway for weeks.

Democrats ratcheted up the pressure yesterday. Senate Minority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.) and four Democratic colleagues wrote to Robert Iger, chief executive of the Walt Disney Co., ABC's corporate parent, urging him to cancel the movie. The Democratic National Committee obtained more than 100,000 signatures on a petition demanding cancellation. Jay Carson, a spokesman for former president Bill Clinton, called ABC's plan to air the movie "despicable."
The six-hour docudrama, scheduled for broadcast Sunday and Monday, depicts such former Clinton officials as Madeleine K. Albright, Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger and Richard Clarke as undermining efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

Yes .. thanks. Note to self: aura (perception) of bipartisanship is more important than anything else.
Lindsy ... still focused on "perceptions" .... as in, what will people think of us? Not .... what's the gravity of what WE ACTUALLY DID!
Filthy ....... rotten ........shameless ...... despicable ...... depraved WORMS!
Chris Wallace: Disney ... did this to his father about the tobacco industry... had his father saying and doing things he never did.
It's one thing to sit there and criticize what the Clinton admin. did, but it's another thing to have Berger or Albright on the screen saying things they never said. Not saying the Clinton didn't do wrong things. He thinks it's slanderous and defamatory (Hmmmm .. just happens to be the EXACT words that Albright used ... BINGO!)
When you say Albright said .. it better be what she said, or she's got a case.

FLASHBACK:
Who's Who on the 9/11 "Independent" Commission
"According to a 1998 Senate testimony of former CIA director James
Woolsey, powerful financier Khalid bin Mahfouz younger sister is
married to Osama bin Laden,. (US Senate, Senate Judiciary
Committee, Federal News Service, 3 Sept. 1998, See also Wayne
Madsen, Questionable Ties, In These Times,12 Nov. 2001 )
Bin Mahfouz is suspected to have funneled millions of dollars to the Al
Qaeda network.(See Tom Flocco, Scoop.co.nz 28 Aug. 2002)
Now, "by sheer coincidence", former New Jersey governor Thomas
Kean has business ties with bin Mahfouz and Al-Amoudi.
Thomas Kean is a director (and shareholder) of Amerada Hess
Corporation , which is involved in the Hess-Delta joint venture with
Delta Oil of Saudi Arabia (owned by the bin Mahfouz and Al-Amoudi
clans)...
Now you would think that being a business partner of the brother in
law and alleged financier of "Enemy No. 1" would also be considered a
bona fide "conflict of interest", particularly when your mandate --as
part of the 9/11 Commission's work-- is to investigate "Enemy No. 1".
"(Michel Chossudovsky, New Chairman of 9/11 Commission had
business ties with Osama's Brother in Law,

Welcome to Liberalism 101.
The sad truth is that everything is fair and nothing is off limits when it comes to radical Liberals attacking smearing and lying about anyone who doesn't walk in lockstep with their Communist radical ideology.
To a certain point I agree.
But the people howling the most about this are immune from the polls and the ballot box and in the end...the people.
They were hand picked by BJ Bill for the office they served in. They aren't and were not held accountable to we the people for their actions or non-actions.
Therefore they don't feel the backlash from all of this like a Reid or Pelosi will.
Clinton and the liberals are nothing but shills for this movie and their 'outrage' is sure to get everyone to view this tripe. The 'final editing' was already in place from the get go and is sure to be kind or soft on the clinton administration. Are we going to believe Hollywood, the leftist networks and the MSM are going to do anything that hurts or further deteriorates the clinton's image?
I think not, but don't be disappointed when the miniseries is a big letdown. Keep your hopes and anticipation low, this 'movie' is going to require it.
I agree with your suspicion that we're all being "played for suckers" here. Everyone seems to have forgotten how Clinton manipulated expectations during his grand jury testimony by leaking that he had "lost it" and had "exploded in anger". When the video was later released it showed no such thing, and of course all of his frothing at the mouth critics who had been hyping it were discredited and ridiculed.
I believe a similar tactic is being employed here.
Hyping is exactly what is going on here. Create a controversy so that ABC will get free advertisement. People are falling for it hook line and sinker.
Before getting totaly out of sorts we should recall that Rush and others have a copy of the original. If there are cuts, the fact they were cut and the scenes cut will be well known and widely discussed.
There is a good possibility that cut scenes will receive more attention when cut than when in the movie. It's possible to missthem in the total movie viewing but when held out alone for discussion can't be missed.
The process may end up being worse for the Rats thn if they left it alone.
Whoa! is right.
I am so mad, I am laughing.
But Wait! What's that we see? A giant crystal ball, and a madman casting spells against the peaceful kingdom. Somewhere at the *Path's* end, deep in the dark forest, lies danger. And certain doom...Monday's final episode.
Good job, Dio! Thank you for keeping history alive.
Just heard President Bush will be giving a speech from the Oval Office on Monday night - soooo, how does that play in to this? I think ABC really is going to pull it.
Well, you have to admit, when the entire weekday audience of ABC signs a petition they pretty much HAVE to listen.
Shalom.
I'm going to record this miniseries and wait for what Rush has to say about it. If he says it's just about as accurate as the original, then I'll watch it; otherwise not.
We'll all be able to see the WHOLE THING..........and THE EVIL BILL CLINTON won't be able to do a thing to stop it.
Or you get 100 out of work DUmmies to work the online petition scam 24/7! LOL!
How can I get one?
You want to believe that go for it,however I'm not going to dismiss that little episode. There was no,nada, zero reason for those files to be in the possesion of White House personnel and I believe it no different then the wire tapping that was Nixon's downfall. The main difference I can see is it involved a Democrap White House not a Republican one !!!
