Background

While visiting Finland, Roh Moo-hyun said, "N. Korean missile is too primitive to reach U.S., but too big to be intended for S. Korea." He continued, "Their missile is not a real weapon, but just a prop for political posturing." He basically dismissed any military significance of missile launches, while answering question from local reporters in Finland.

Illustration

In the following cartoon, there are missiles flying in the sky. Two men on the platform, looking over barbed-wired fence, are named U.S.(left) and Japan(right.) U.S. has a big binocular, Japan a small one. Roh Moo-hyun sitting on the ground, watching the flying missiles through a hole in the fence, mutters, "No biggie!! Just primitive missiles..."

Actually, he may be right. But sound reasoning and logic indicates that the difference be being right and being wrong in this particular case is way to high to even begin to take the chance that he is not right.

I've always wondered why South Koreans seem so supportive of North Korea? Don't they know the misery that their fellow Koreans are suffering? Don't they care? If not, why not? It seems so unnatural to me.

Primitive, 'eh? Not to worry?

"They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance." - Union General John Sedgwick spoke these words just moments before being shot dead by a Confederate sniper at the Battle of Spotsylvania. A head shot by the way.

For the record, the weapon was a 'primitive' black powder rifle, at a distance of 730M (800 yd).

Never underestimate your enemy.
