Democrats are responding to President Bush's latest remarks on the war on terror, saying it'll take a new policy in Iraq to make America safe.

Congressman Sherrod Brown of Ohio says the U-S-led invasion of Iraq has made the country "a training ground for terrorists and a recruiting tool for the leaders of al-Qaida."

He says the war on terror should be redirected to end what he calls the "open-ended commitment in Iraq" and refocus military efforts on destroying al-Qaida.

Brown, who is running for a seat in the Senate, delivered the Democrats' weekly radio address.

The latest trial balloon from the Dems. Their idea of leadership is to throw enough mud in hopes that some sticks to Bush.

They had at least five years (1996-2001) to focus on Al qaida and instead did nothing.

Oh this is rich: turn our efforts AWAY from Iraq and focus on AQ....but AQ is building terror training camps in Iraq because of our efforts???!!!! These democrats make absolutely NO sense.

Same war. Different front.

Jeez louise, glad we didn't have to fight the Germans, Italians, and Japanese with strategic thinkers like these advising us.

Uh, the first linking of Al qaida to a terrorist attack against the U.S. was in the 1993 WTC Bombing.

Since AQ has called Iraq WWIII, the dems might first want to buy a clue before opening their mouths.

They still can't pick up on the common thread that links everything together... Fundamentalist Islam. Their PC infected brains can't deal with with religion... even one that espouses hate. As far as they're concerned... the only hateful religion... is Christianity.

Exactly. Unless they are all dumbs as rocks they understand that too and are still willing to play politics with our safety...either way I don't want them in charge.

They always seem to leave that little tidbit of truth out of the equation don't they?

Ah. Who the hell do the 'RATS think we are fighting in Iraq?

Congressman Sherrod Brown of Ohio says the U-S-led invasion of Iraq has made the country "a training ground for terrorists and a recruiting tool for the leaders of al-Qaida."

If we pull out of Iraq, al Qaeda will pull out too? Is that it?

Where will they go? Oregon? Nevada? Follow us to Okinawa?

DemocRATS do not have ONE military mind among them.

I can only imagine. First the NY Times would leak details of the upcoming Normandy invasion in early May. Then Howard Dean would ask why we are planning on invading France when Germany is the real enemy. Pelosi would chime in that the choice of Normandy shows the Roosevelt Administration cannot even read a map, since Calais is much closer. and Harry Reid would leak the casualty numbers from Operation Tiger as proof that FDR was unfit to lead the country and that new leadership and new policies were needed.

This will be so easy for the Bush administration to rebut. Al Qaeda is not a state or a uniformed army. It is a movement that has poisoned Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and the rest of those nefarious abettors.

If we pull out of Iraq then Iranian surrogates will take over that country and its vast oil fields. Then AQ will focus on the remaining US forces in Afghanistan.

You don't have to be a genius to figure this stuff out. The Rats can't be that stupid. Or can they?

"They had at least five years (1996-2001) to focus on Al qaida and instead did nothing."

They had since the first WTC bombing on February 26th, 1993. They controlled Congress for another 22 months (March '93 through Dec '94)and did nothing.

I was actually trying to figure out when the Clintoon administration finally got it that Al Qaida was involved. I guess it does not matter.

Al Qaida is training in Irag. We must pull out of Iraq so we can fight Al Qaida.

This course in liberal "logic" is brought to you by the party that thinks Okinawa is just over the horizon from Iraq.
