"I wanted the gun out of the house," said Jones, 55,
So do the criminals

This dip wad not only got the gun out of her house, she also advertised the fact to the criminals.
I wonder if the Compost will carry the story about her forthcoming armed robbery?

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

DC is a Democrat stronghold. These are the people who re-elected Marion Barry because he was black, so I'd say stupid is rather an understatement for their lack of mental acuity.

Jones and hundreds of others got cash for guns as part of the police department's gun buyback program, which yesterday netted 337 firearms and paid area residents about $16,700.And whose money is that that's paying for this?

District Police Host Buyback to Get Firearms Out of Homes and Off the StreetsWhere are the police apologists who are saying that the police are on our side? Seems to me they're the instigators of this little bit of Cambodian style theater.

I saw a few of these folks get interviewed on TV ... the lot impressed me as a bunch of whiny, self absorbed, moronic professional victims. They are, I think, best characterised by their combined lack of spine and incapacity for original thought. The cops came across as a bunch of smarmy little tin-plated dictators. DC is a bananna republic.

And whose money is that that's paying for this? Yours - if you read the article it was a "grant" which means tax money..

In return for their gun, the cops should also give each of these folks a big poster, suitable for displaying in their apartment window, that says "This house is a gun-free zone." See how that works.

"Francinina Jones grabbed her husband's long shotgun and marched straight to the police station in Southeast D.C." where she was gunned down by police.
Ms. Jones had gone to the wrong police station and was mistaken for the crazed girlfriend of the Crack Kingpin, who threatened to "break her man outta jail at all costs."

Residents Cash In Guns for Peace of Mind I call BS. Should read: "Residents Cash In Guns for Cash"
Hope they all feel safe in their liberal nirvana. Keep your eye on that murder count!

I wonder if 6 extra magazines is enough. Anyone who'd volutarily give up his Tec-9 is an absolute fool.

"I wanted the gun out of the house," said Jones, 55, who lives in Southeast and traded the firearm for a $50 payment from the city. "There's too much killing, all these young people have guns."So, Mr. Jones, you aren't a killer or a robber. So, by turning in your gun, and your ability to defend yourself from the guy down the street who owns his gun illegally and wants to use it to rape/rob/kill you, and didn't turn in his gun, you're making yourself safer? If that's the case, I have some beachfront property in Kansas to sell you.

Tec-9 ... yeah, they had one of those on the table ... I wonder if somebody actually sold 'em that one, or if they just dragged it out of the evidence locker to add 'spice' to the collection. I also saw a pretty nice looking Browning Hi-Power on the table ... I'd gladly pay $1 over whatever the polizei were offering for it!
