Anti-torture absolutists like Sullivan adamantly deny that harsh tactics produce reliable information. Its their way of avoiding the moral dilemma presented by a ticking time-bomb scenario. But theyll have to face it now, because in four short minutes Brian Ross utterly explodes that particular article of quasi-religious faith as fantasy. Not only did they break Khaled Sheikh Mohammed; not only was the information he gave them valuable; not only did it save lives; but Rosss sources include people within the CIA who are opposed to the practices.
The best part, though? Learning that Ramzi Binalshibh cried like a three-year-old girl.
Hard decision time for St. John of Tucson. Choose carefully, Senator.

This was on Oreilly. Over a dozen terrorist plots ended due to "torture" techniques. Watch the video. Human Rights Watch and the like scream that this stuff doesnt work. Interesting... How idiotic can they be to think that this amazingly useful information that saves Americans lives should be left in the minds of the pigs that hold it? They are idiotic. The video is great.

This is a big story if true. The conventional wisdom is that torture does not produce good intel.

The wacko ACLU, AI, HRW bunches want it both ways. They say they want us safe and they are first to place blame when something happens. The other side is that they don't want us to use tested techniques on terrorists to extract valuable information. What a crock. Sounds just like John McCain. He's a McCaniac, McCaniac I know..........

I hear that a lot...but can never get the person making the statement to give me a clear answer as to what they think torture is.

O'Reilly: "Which one held out the longest?"
Ross : "Khaled Sheikh Mohammed."
O'Reilly: "How long did he resist?"
Ross: "About 2 and a half minutes."

We're not using conventional torture. Conventional torture (without our pharmacopia) tends to result in the torturee telling the torturer whatever he thinks that person wants to know, whether it's true or not. That's always been the problem.
Chemical-assisted interrogation is far, far more reliable. The subject simply doesn't have the willpower to lie, and frightening them makes it even easier to get the info needed.

Sounds effective, but honestly when I hear torture I got my hopes up to high. You know things like removing toe nails etc.
