Thanks to a global positioning system device, a career thief has found his way back to prison.

Wade D. Arvidson, 42, of Eagan, pleaded guilty to theft charges after being connected to a nighttime business burglary through a GPS device that authorities had planted on his motorcycle. The agreement was announced Monday.

Eagan police, suspecting Arvidson's involvement in another property crime, got a judge's permission to attach the tracking device to Arvidson's motorcycle last summer.

Nice! I'm glad to see the police using a little ingenuity to nap a long-time criminal.

This loser must have been really surprised when the police nabbed him.

Comments or opinions - anyone?

"Comments or opinions - anyone?"

This ought to be standard procedure (GPS tracking devices), for ANY repeat/habitual criminals. Put a tracking bracelet on 'em, and let that be part of their sentence. It would not require an extended period, as these repeat/habitual criminals won't last 5 years before continuing their acts.

Nah. Implant a chip inside their chest cavity near the heart. That way, they can't (or won't) dig it out. While yer at it, put in a small radio detonated explosive charge small enough to be safe to anyone near, but one that would turn their insides into Jell-O. Put the firing frequencies onboard into the GPS chips of other habitual felons. That way, when they get together to plan or do a job, the problem resolves itself.

Great minds think alike. There are somethings we are better off not knowing.

That is one of the most evil things I've ever heard!

BTW, I absolutely approve of it!
