CONDI VS. BUBBA . . .(Berger stolen papers revealed?)
NY Post ^ | 9/26/06 | Editorial

In fact, a 1999 Clarke after-action memo - the one top Clinton aide Sandy Berger later stole from the National Archives - identified national-security weaknesses so "glaring" that only sheer "luck" prevented a cataclysmic attack back then.

And, as Clarke told the 9/11 Commission publicly, there was nothing the Bush administration could have done that would have prevented the attacks.

Sure, he tells a different story now. But that, he admitted, is because of his opposition to the Iraq war, which he believes distracted from the War on Terror.

Secretary Rice was a lot more honest, explaining yesterday that there was no full-scale War on Terror "the way that we're fighting it now" - by either administration - before 9/11: "We just weren't organized as a country, either domestically or as a leader internationally."

Neither Rove or anyone close to this President would ever ever release any information from a classified source.

Snipped this from the article and throwing it out to the first taker for an EXCELLENT new tag line:
"But was Clinton telling the truth? (Remember the LAST time he wagged his finger in public?) "

Millions of citizens in the US would pay good money on PPV to see Billy Jeff debate Sec. Rice. Can you just picture the baggy-faced rat, with his dry-mouthed lying, and Rice, with her ever-cool composure, going at it? That's why he'd never do it.

Great post. Wonder was it only Berger that Clinton got his intel briefings from or was Hillry the go to office for all the data dump.

There were parts of what Clinton said that sounded 'rehearsed', Clinton did speak with confidence of exact events, kinda like he did not know details.

I now believe he mentioned Clark so many times in yelling at Wallace not to get people to read Clark's book, but to send Clark a message to watch Clark's back.

One report said that the stolen papers had to do with Clinton helping Muslims in Serbia and Bosnia. Those Muslims were Mujahadin from Afghanistan and Chechnya. Clinton took their side against Christians from the former Yugoslavia,

Surprise, surprise, he went against the Christians. I was appalled, aghast then. And more so now. Everywhere he went to 'help' broker 'peace' he gave Muslims known even then to be tied to terrorists advantages, one after another, over the Christians and the locals. And look now, one war after another brewing in each of those places, the Christians and others all but driven out.

I still find it amazing that the MSM/DBM have all but ignored this story & still quote Sandy Berger as if his opinion is relevant about anything.

Right. The day last year when I read an op-ed piece in the Wall Street Journal (of all places) written by that @sshole was the last time I ever read the WSJ.

I'd like to see it because I doubt it would take very much goading on her part for him to call her a right-wing whore on national TV, disgracing himself even further.....

Why hasn't anyone asked why Clarke was fired from his job by Secy of State James Baker, or why Brent Scowcroft found him a job at the NSC. Or how a toady for Mort Abramowitz at State's Office of Intelligence and Research achieved such dizzying political heights. And why did the guy live a charmed life in the Clinton administration? And why did the Bush administration keep him on even though he had such close ties to Democrat insiders?

Clinton railed at "all of the right-wingers who are attacking me now" and denounced Wallace's "conservative hit job," demanding to know "how many people in the Bush administration you asked . . . 'Why did you fire Dick Clarke,' " the anti-terrorism chief.

But was Clinton telling the truth? (Remember the last time he wagged his finger in public?)

Secretary of State Rice suggests not.

"The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there . . . is just flatly false," the former national security adviser told The Post's editorial board yesterday. "What we did in eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton administration did in the preceding [eight] years,"

Firing Clarke? Far from it, she noted: He "was the counter-terrorism czar when 9/11 happened, and he left [in 2003] when he did not become deputy director of homeland security," as he wanted.

That's a critical point.

Libby gets indicted for "perjury" on a non-case, and Sandy Burglar admits a crime, commits perjury and he gets zip. What's wrong with this picture?

The more this Clinton news stays in the news the better. It's about time we took a close look at the failings of the Clinton Admin. IT'S ONLY BEEN FIVE YEARS SINCE 9/11! Sheesh.

FWIW, I don't know that the memo was the only doc Berger may have stolen. I'm just as concerned about what he may have put back. In any case, whatever the Archives have on the subject of the Toon admin and terror is now worthless as far as I'm concerned.
