I've got a few boxes of Gurkhas, they are very good and the price is great. La Gloria Cubana Series R are very good and well-priced as well. I bought a box of La Flor Dominicanas after I heard Rush talk about them last year and thought they were garbage, so I gave them away.

Yuk. My beautiful wife got caught up in the cigar frenzy of the late 90's, thinking that she was cool, even though she had just survived breast cancer. Stupidest thing she ever did, and came within an inch of our marriage! Yuk!

More stupid than your wish to displease your loved one by hounding her about something that she enjoys?

Let alone trying to discredit her decision to be happy?

At the Davidoff store at the Venetian...

Our son works in Vegas. for Christmas he sent me 3 Davidoffs and one other cigar. The vendor gave them to him in a Davidoff cardbord box. They were shipped from Vegas (Dry) to Northern Illinois (dry) in December. By the time they arrived the wrappers were coming off. I put them in the humidor and evey 8 months later they were worthless. I don't blame the son, but the vendor should have known better, and provide them in something other than a plastic seal-able bag. ANY unwrapped cigar sold in a dry climate should be protected IMHO. Oh, the 4th cigar was wrapped and came out fine. Can't recall the make.

I bought them the day I left, brought them home in a sealed bag and took them to a cigar store at home and put them in their walk-in humidor for a couple months.

La Gloria Cubana Series R, I agree with you here, a great stick.

Have any of you tried JR Ultimates? Must say these were a very nice surprise, for the money they are hard to beat.

That's the way to do it. Our son didn't know any better but the vendor should have. It turned out to be a big waste of money for him.

He's coming home to visit this month. I haven't told him yet but will when I see him. I don't want him getting the urge to redo the Christmas present again this year and go through the same situation.

That's great. I had checked one time and it didn't look like the company was around anymore. Maybe I checked wrong. The last couple Lone Wolf's that I had smoked were pretty good.

I wonder why it is that cigar smoke smells good, unlike cigarette smoke, which stinks like a f*rt.

It's possibly because cigarettes use the cheapest low grade tobacco available.

I've have some Fuente 8-5-8s and love them. How do they compare to the Hemingway Classics?

I've puffed a little on these during camping trips with the girls:

They get really gross though after four puffs though. We just thought we were cool when we did it. We were trying to make smoke rings.

Try the Hemingways, you'll never want an 8-5-8 again.

No, I only have 3 or 4 per year.

My situation is pretty mysterious.
