Kerry vows tougher stance on group that questioned war service

DES MOINES, Iowa --Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry lashed out Sunday against a group that bashed him during his last run at the White House.

Kerry, who made a weekend appearance in northwest Iowa, said he is concerned that Swift Vote Veterans for Truth is again resorting to "the politics of fear and smear." The group, financed by Texas conservatives, ran commercials questioning his claim of being a decorated Vietnam veteran -- the centerpiece of his presidential campaign in 2004.

"We're not going to give them an ounce of daylight," said Kerry, who is considering another run at the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008.

The senator said his response to the commercials was not strong enough.

"We thought the fact that the truth was out there was enough," he said. "Clearly it wasn't."

Those same conservatives have formed another group this year -- Economic Freedom Fund -- and are attacking Democrats across the country. Part of the campaign includes $500,000 to bash Rep. Leonard Boswell, D-Iowa, who is seeking re-election in the 3rd District in central Iowa.

Boswell is being challenged by state Republican Senate President Jeff Lamberti of Ankeny in a race that has included significant cash from both parties.

Boswell retired after 20 years in the Army, including two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. But the conservative group has chosen to focus on issues ranging from higher taxes to immigration. Part of the group's money is also funding an automated telephone campaign against Boswell.....

Even Kerry's campaign backed off his first Purple Heart claim:
"Even Mr. Kerry's people have admitted the Swift Boat critics were right about 'Christmas in Cambodia'. Nor has big media yet been able to disprove the assertion of the critics that Kerry's Purple Heart wounds were mostly immaculate. As Sen. Bob Dole, who spent a couple of years in hospital after his ghastly World War II wounds, said: 'Three Purple Hearts and never bled that I know of.' In fact, Fox News reported that the Kerry campaign has said it is possible his first Purple Heart was awarded for an unintentional self-inflicted wound -- just as the Swift Boat critics alleged in their book." --Tony Blankley, Washington Times

Kerry's journal entry that his crew "hadn't been shot at yet":

"In a reversal of their staunch defense of John Kerry's military service record, Kerry campaign officials were quoted by Fox News saying that it was indeed possible that John Kerry's first Purple Heart commendation was the result of an unintentional, self-inflicted wound." And questions keep coming. For example, Kerry received a Purple Heart for wounds suffered on December 2, 1968. But in Kerry's own journal written nine days later, he writes he and his crew, quote, "hadn't been shot at yet," unquote. Kerry's campaign has said it is possible this first Purple Heart was awarded for an unintentional self-inflicted wound." --Massnews.com
If the first Purple Heart, and just the first Purple Heart alone, was inappropriately issued, then Kerry's entire web of lies comes unraveled. No three Purple Hearts, no early bailing out on the war.

Comrade Kerry should have been swinging from a rope for his violations of U.S. law in entering negotiations with America's enemies in Paris (i.e., the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong) while still a Naval Officer.

The only penalty John F'in Kerry suffered was a less than honorable discharge from the Navy which was fixed up and upgraded to "honorable" (kind of like changing the expired date on a rotting piece of rump roast in the local grocery store), thanks once again to that OTHER treasonous no-good piece of sh*t, noneother than Jimmy "I will never lie to you" Carter (who makes Joe Isuzu look like Honest Abe).

Kerry is a loser, a parasite and a puke.

He will NEVER step foot in the Oval Office as President.

Favorite saying amoung dem operatives these days:

We will not be swiftboated again." In 2004 it took citizens to bring these things to light, the GOP just doesn't do as well as the dems at bringing dirty laundry to light.

I knew Hanoi Boi was lying about his service when he started dragging out that bozo whose life he saved when bozo fell off the boat. Too much like PT 109.

Why doesn't he just sign his 180 to prove the Swifties wrong?

Not before Sandy Berger makes another trip...!

Well , why doesen't some reporter ask him up front, in public to sign his 180 . We need people on our side to ask tough questions of these creeps. Asking it here wont matter. Asking Kerry that question in from of TV cameras will.

Maybe because Boswell didn't manufacture any phony medals? Just a wild guess.

Kerry wouldn't have to "get tough" with anyone, if he'd just release his military records, in full. If he hand't tried running on his military record (I seem to recall hearing somewhere that he served in Viet Nam) in the first place, none of this would have happened.

"Lurch is not exactly the lady killer. He had to find an alcoholic cybil wanna be bag lady to marry him."

He'd have married Mrs. Ketchup no matter what she looked like. He loved the looks of her wallet and checkbook and that was all he was interested in.

It would be so refreshing to see John Kerry looking in his own mirror and fixing what's wrong with him instead of vowing to crush, wipe out, eliminate people who point out why he's not fit to command (his nation or his own life).

"Why doesn't he just sign his 180 to prove the Swifties wrong?"

My question at this point is. Could Kerry change those records after all this years? He does have a lot of connections.

I always thought John's pink lipstick in that cover photo was particularly fetching.

(I make no claims as to what it will fetch.)
