There are BIG developments in this, IMO. It says that in that pre-scandal safe seat, Dems were throwing money at Foley's opponent. Out of state donors too.

The Democrats very clearly had this in their dirty tricks bag and waited until the time was right.

Most, not all, Republicans are way past the point where we care about sexual orientation. Pedophiles are a different matter, but there's no evidence Foley was doing that in a physical way.

I wish the story would die. He's gone. No apparent crime commited. Enough already

That's what it looks like. It was a very safe seat, and 100s of thousands of $$$ were thrown at the challenger, including by people who run cos so big (That Tejas thing) I've heard of them. Seems odd to throw money at a safe seat unless you knew something was up.

I've heard of Tejas Securities & John Tishman. I would assume they are savvy with their money. Could be significant.

Well the writer is still a DNC shill...... but at least he has stirred himself to check the campaign donations for Mahoney, and the pattern is FAR more curious and disturbing than Silverstein acknowledges...... I'm curious whether there would be ANY other case(s) of what seemed to be such an obviously "safe" Republican seat getting such major out-of-state donations, obviously steered by the DNC-types. Why on earth would supposedly savvy wealthy donors throw hundreds of thousands of dollars down the toilet, unless they "knew" the seat would be in play?
