I don't have any facts in front of me but Elizabeth Dole is from Salisbury, NC which produced many millionaires from the Food Town, Food Lion inception growth. Her family might very well have been part of that.
Many of the local people put a modest investment in and are wealthy today.

How many, like Lyndon Johnson came out of Texas a poor teacher and died a multimillionaire? They only job he ever jad was om gpverm,emt/I remember seeing Harry S. Truman mowing his own lawn in Independence, MO. IIRC, there was no presidential pension back then, or if there was, it was minimal.

How did Rummy make his fortune? Also, I don't understand how someone can be either worth only 90 million, or as much as 300. Does wealth really fluctuate that much?

The Doles are from modest means, Bob from very, very modest means.
24 Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) $13,508,152 $49,829,007
I can't fathom how these people can accumulate this kind of wealth LEGALLY while I'm helping to pay their salaries. Given the number of millionaires in the house and senate, maybe its time to make these bastards work for free with no pension benefits either.......But thats not likely to happen considering they are the ones who have the say-so on their own salaries.....
ONE TERM LIMITS THEN YOU'RE OUT OF THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't fathom how these people can accumulate this kind of wealth LEGALLY....All sorts of "special deals" come their way, and they take advantage of them. I believe Tom Coburn will leave the Senate when he promised without increasing his wealth by using his position. He is a unique exception.

Also, does anybody know where Lincoln Chaffee got his money? I'm surmising it's inherited. It HAS to be inherited. From what I've read, the guy is so dumb that he was confined to shoeing horses until his parents died.
To: TomGuy
He has authored and co-authored more legislation since the 2004 than he did the previous 19 years combined. How much has actually become law?
To: Dane
I actually think I have that on VHS somewhere. Its one of the funniest skits SNL has ever done!
