Our Murtha Visit push back protest went pretty well for a last minute operation. Seven folks, mostly Vets showed including a two tour Iraq War Vet. We set up about 12 pm and held vigil to about 1:30.
Murtha appearantly arrived and snuck in the back door because we never saw him. One of the various folks who were attending the fundraiser and press conference screamed across the street to this group of Marine Vets and a Navy vet with Marine and Navy Ball Caps and USMC emblems on jackets, asking if they had ever servered.. and everyones jaw dropped. It takes all sorts.
The Iraq war vet was intervied by the Cincinnati Enquirer and a reporter from El Mundo (a Spanish Daily) who was covering a number of events in Cincinnati the same day.
We got a few pics.
Most of the attendees chose to stay on their side and slink in. Several yelled and one young lady crossed to our side of the street and was waving a rainbow colored "pache" or peace flag.
The lady with the peace banner eventually discussed her views with us.. such as the US is oppressing Hamas by not supporting that Democracy and Hezbollah by supplying Israel with bombs.. and you had to wonder how someone could get so far off the deep end.
Good for you guys! We have been doing a support the troop in Studio City, CA (near Universal Studios) for over 3 years now. Sometimes there has only been one of us, right now we're back at three, but our signs speak volumes & drives the moonbats crazy. We're not backing down, and I encourage you not to as well. Keep his feet to the fire!
Thanks for your AAR, dalight. For such short notice it looks like it was a success. It's not surprising Murthawi snuck in the back door, he's a coward.
The lady with the rainbow flag is a good example of his supporters along with the Code Pinko nutsos but the worst thing is he supports them instead of our military.

I would say your first FReep was an outstanding success! Getting 7 people to be there with such short notice is a very big deal. The fact that you had so many veterans with you is a real feather in your cap. The flags on the truck behind you was a nice touch.

He drove by us...was even stopped in traffic beside us. He wouldn't even look at us.

Great action and report. Murtha must know he he's in trouble by now, with so many protest actions against him.
