And Not Only the House--GOP Insiders Say Democrats Could Win Senate Too
Optimism and realism are two of the essential ingredients for winning in politics.
During the three national election victories presided over by George W. Bush and his top political adviser Karl Rove in 2000, 2002 and 2004 the Republican Party had reason to be both optimistic and realistic about its prospects for victory.
But regarding the 2006 midterms, just three weeks away, many Republican strategists and party donors believe the only realistic position is one that's far from optimistic. With an unpopular war hanging over their heads and President Bush in his sixth year in office (when a president's party typically suffers significant congressional losses), numerous Republican sources believe that Democrats are likely to win more than the 16 seats they need to win back control of the House and could possibly gain the six Senate seats required to resume control of that chamber.

The Fourth Estate is a Fifth Column.
Sorry about the typo in the headline.
It's so cute how hard they try.
"GOP Insiders"?
I give this S.T.V. attempt a C-.
Yes, and Mark Halperin is one of the most open about it.
I kid you not.
Thank you!
Blah, blah, blah, blah...
More "unnamed Republican insiders." If I even believe these idiots exist, they are basing it on rigged MSM polling overpolling Democrats and on the ivory tower Beltway conventional wisdom that all of America and especially conservatives are going to vote or not vote because we're all pissed off about Foley. PLEASE!
I'll stick with the reported overconfidence of Bush and Rove. They've got LEGITIMATE polling the MSM and these "Republican insiders" (probably a bunch of RINOs like George Will or Ed Rollins) aren't privy to. The president and Rove have a reason for their reported optimism. And I know what I'm hearing and reading from conservatives on Free Republic and elsewhere. We're all chomping at the bit to vote to get back at the DemoCrites and their media puppets who are working overtime with their dirty tricks to try to win this election with sleaze rather than with an agenda.
So screw all these supposed insiders and the media pundits who are all so busy listening to each other they're missing what's REALLY going on out here in REAL America.
It's going to get worse. They will not even try to hide their bias. They're desperate. Say anything, do anything.
Barone is someone who must be paid attention to.
Let them live in their delusions as they did in each elections cycle in 2000, 2002, and 2004. Do you remember how they were dancing in the streets of Boston all the way up to 10:00 PM on elections night 2004 thinking that Kerry won? The same is happening again this year and it will happen in each election in the future. President Bush and Karl Rove said that we will keep both Houses of Congress, and I believe them. We will win my FRiend :)
"And Not Only the House--GOP Insiders Say Democrats Could Win Senate Too"
GOP insiders say Bush at fault for WWII.
They're trying to stampede the Dems to victory.
Weeks and weeks of these type of stories.
It's because the Dems have no issues to run on. They're empty, nothing to toot.
After listening to the angst at the Daily Kos over a certain district in Ohio that's a predictor of the national trend I'm feeling pretty good. This psych-warfare is starting to getting funny because it's too predictable.
I live for lost causes...
Ah, no...you should walk door to door, put out signs, contribute money, and work phone banks llke I do.
"They're trying to stampede the Dems to victory."
_______
You know, this could backfire. "The Democrats are going to win, they don't need my vote."
They are, after all, naturally lazy.
