If you do not vote, then do not complain
vanity | 10/16/06 | Cobra64

Posted on 10/16/2006 1:22:07 PM PDT by Cobra64

I've been reading so many posts from FReepers who said they are not going to vote or will vote for a third party to "show Republicans that I don't support their actions."

Quite frankly, I am very disappointed in many of the actions of Republicans who are supposed to be Conservative. By nature, I am more of a supporter of the Constitution Party because the United States Constitution is what makes America unique. All else is secondary.

Regardless, when I think about the larger issue, America's security, I cannot bring myself not to vote for the Republicn party. The Constitution party will never win. My objective is more focussed on getting more Republicans to think more about the Constitution and forget socialism, and political correctness.

It is obvious that the Democrats' hatred of our President is so deep that they do not love our countyr.

Kerry, Pelosi, Murtha are exemplary of so many Democrats.

If you don't vote... Don't complain when the Democrats decide to pull another Viet Nam and commit us to defeat.

They just want to embolden our enemies, causing more death to our military, and more attempts like 9-11.

If Democrats take over Congress, those here who did not vote have themselves to thank.

Ditto. And I write to all politicians, both sides of the fence. Don't pull punches, tell them what you think in respectful simple terms.

I vote, and I complain.

What, I should stop complaining just because I have voted?

When offered a choice between plates of tainted meat and moldy bread, don't complain if you don't actually eat one.

I hold my nose just about every election day and pretty much vote republican even though most of them are flaming self serving RINOs....but the alternative is a horrible one.

I have voted for a couple of local Dims...just because the NRA gave them better report cards than the Repubs who were running......

I am with you Cobra64. Many important legislative issues AND the nomination of judges are coming up in the next 2 years.
Anyone who sits it out is as bas as a DUmmy and should have their second ammendment rights revoked. I don't care what they have to say.

It ticks me off the way the Republicans have acted but I would rather be ticked off than ticked on so I will vote a straight Republican ticket also. But we must find a way to get their attention. Voting for a Democrat is like voting for surrender in Iraq,North Korea,China and anywhere else we may have trouble.

You are spot on, but the ones who will sit on their hands to "send a message" will be bitching and moaning incessently thereafter.

I will vote and I do not have to think a great deal about who I am voting for. It has been a long time since I have ever put much thought into which party I was voting for. But this is the first time that I have ever voted when I have no emotional investment in the Republican Party for which I am voting. If they lose they cannot blame me and the party faithful, they have only themselves to blame for squandering what might have been, had they taken the opportunities that are presented when one party holds the executive as well as two houses of congress.

AMEN!!!

Republicans aren't perfect but we certainly don't want the democrats in control of the War on Terror (just to name one important issue this November).

"Republicans have good reasons to be disappointed in their Congressmen, especially with their runaway spending and amnesty bill for illegal aliens. However, before Republican voters decide to stay home at the next election, or perhaps to vote for the Democrats, they might repeat one phrase to themselves: 'Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi'."

"The only way America will ever be defeated by death-worshipping theocrats who've crawled out from under a Dark Ages rock is with the help of the mullahs' fifth column - academia, the media, the judiciary, public education, Hollywood and the Democratic Party.

Of the two suicide cults America confronts, liberalism is by far the more lethal."

I agree with you completly, Cobra64. Everyone should be going out of their way to vote and vote a straight GOP ticket.

Anyone on the fence -- after this set up job against Curt Weldon they need to get off the fence and VOTE -- otherwise you are handing power to Soros and CREW and their ILK! They need to get out of trying to manipulate our political system and they need to go down and the way to do that is turn out in overwhelming numbers to vote for the GOP, even if you are holding your nose to do so.... vote for the Republican Party in November.... the time to make changes is the primary, not the general election...

If you stayed home during the general election and don't like your candidate, then shame on you, go vote!!

Stand out and teach RINOs a lesson for a few years, and miss the chance to change the USSC for a generation.

Brilliant!

"I always vote and frankly don't care if anyone likes the way I vote."

I agree 100%. If we continue voting for liberal RINOs, they will keep running and we will never be rid of them.

I would never vote for a Giuliani or McCain just because they have a (R) after their name on a ballot.
______

I wouldn't either - in a primary. But I wouldn't vote for Hillary or JFnK over one of them. And please don't say you would vote for some 3rd party candidate - might as well vote for the dim or not vote at all.

I've never had the opportunity to vote for a Lieberman in the sort of situation he's in today. But there's a time I'd vote for a Democrat. In comparison to Lamont, Lieberman can win, and he supports National Defence. Lamont supports surrender.

In 2002, a friend of mine ran for congress as a Democrat. He's a good guy and conservative. He is unequivocally pro-life. An old fashioned, conservative Zell Miller type Democrat.

I voted for his Republican opponent, the incumbent. He, too, is a solid conservative who has built a strong voting record in congress since the 1980s.

I hated voting against my friend, but I could not get the image of Tom Daschle as Speaker of the House out of my head.

Heck! I'm not proud. I'll vote a couple of times to make up for those who don't vote.

Sorry but using 9-11 to scare people into voting for your political party is exploiting a tragedy. The republicans don't need to resort to that stuff to win.

Actually, they probably do. If they had accomplished any conservative agendas during the time they controlled both Houses and the WH, they wouldn't need to.
