This does not necessarily mean that the threat was credible. Even if a phony theat, the FBI will still investigate and even if a phony threat, they can still charge an individual.

If this individual is proven to have ties to radicals, then we can question their original assertion that the threat was not credible.

More than likely just some young punk being a smart ass.

Not credible as in nothing has been organized to carry out the threat. The fact that the threat was made is credible and someone is responsible for that.
