It's the Democrats that have made WMDs the "main reason for invading Iraq", but only after the fact. Anyone that's interested in the truth can read the President's speech to the UN and his State of the Union prior to the war. He stated plainly - and to applause - that we were going to free the people of Iraq and bring Democracy to the Middle East.

WHO are you going to vote for???
The other two are worse...and KBH did NOT say that she would pull the troops.
I AM SHOCKED and ANGRY that she said that...but, we will just have to do what others in the USA are having to do...hold our noses and vote for the Republican candidate.
She has already said this is her last term....

I'll still vote for her. She merely showed herself to be a coward who lacks the courage of her convictions, pretty much the norm among the spinless pubbies. The dem would be worse.
Sadly, this election reminds me of the old joke that ends with the punchline "coffee break's over-back on your heads!". We have to remember that being ankle-deep in $hit is not as bad as standing on our heads in it. Stinks either way, though.

Hutchison, a senator for more than 13 years, also said she would not have voted for the United States to invade the country in 2003 if she'd known there were no weapons of mass destruction there. It's a big IF. She should have refused to answer such a worthless question
To: WinOne4TheGipper
Presumably this means that Senator Hutchinson had no problem with the Iraqis firing on our pilots, paying bounty for the heads of dead Americans and Israelis, training terrorists and giving sanctuary to Abu Nidal, Abu Abbas, Zarqawi and the likes. Nor is she capable of understanding that all those dead folks in Habalja did not die from natural causes.
But she has endeared herself to the Chris Mathews of the world and may even get an invite on that lefty program. So there is an upside for the good Senator!

The WMD issue has never been the deciding factor for me - it was just one more good reason to depose Saddam. I wanted to see Iraq freed and rebuilt as a secular democracy to form a solid US ally in the region and a catalyst and source of support for dissident movements in Iran and Syria.
But it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm no expert, but those who are seem to believe the disbanding of the Iraqi army and the de-Baathification of the Iraqi government, combined with insufficient troops on the ground have seriously delayed, if not doomed, the enterprise. I don't believe the US should leave Iraq now, but I do believe the government needs to come up with, enunciate, and execute some clear plan of action to get that place under control.

Oh, sure. Does she think Afghanistan is the only battleground in fighting terrorism? Terrorists do not have a country/state, adhere to no rules of war much less the Geneva Convention, are establishing civilian armies (cells) in many countries, are financed by those who want to see the ruin of the west and have pledged to destroy our way of life and drive us back to the 14th century. What is HER answer to fighting terrorism? Her question should be, "since we did't find WMDs in Iraq, where can it be?" The Kurds know Saddam had WMDs even if she refuses to acknowledge it.
To: WinOne4TheGipper
Of course if the exact WMD situation had been known we may still have gone to war, but the framing of the thing would have been different.
The President would have gone about things a different way and that exact bill wouldn't have been presented; so Hutchinson makes sense that her voting behavior would have been different if all facts were known.

Does anyone in political office
read? We have found hundreds of WMD in Iraq, all in violation of the ceasefire agreements. Some are pre- GW1, some after. It's on the record.
For God's sake, go to this site's search function and look for Iraqi WMDs, and you will get back article after article about locating caches of shells. I think one of the largest such contained over 700 items.

Democrat Barbara Ann Radnofsky seized on Hutchison's reflection, suggesting that Hutchison was among senators who failed to read intelligence information...
Many Congresscritters apparently suffer from Didnotreadthereportitis. Many of the same suffer from the related ailment, Didnotreadthebillitis. These elected should be sent for treatment and removed from any legislative responsibilities.
