Just Why Democrats Are 'Dangerous' When It Comes To America's Defense
Investors.com (IBD) ^ | 10/20/2006 | Staff

Thomas Sowell, the distinguished Stanford scholar, wrote on this page a week ago that there's a difference between the major parties: "The Republicans are disappointing and the Democrats are dangerous." We'd like to take this opportunity to elaborate on his second point.

We and our allies are in a serious global war against fanatical, determined Islamic terrorists who have declared war on America and the free world. Their stated objective is to kill all the Americans they can, eliminate Israel, control and enslave women, and in time overpower and rule with an iron fist nations from Spain to the Far East. They intensely hate our freedom and successful way of life.

While Democrats in Congress always assert they "support our troops," their political policies and actions have continually undermined our nation's fight to win the war on terror and defend America. Here is their national security record:

Here's a pic of the great American. He proves that intellect and brilliance are not diminished by personal deprivation in childhood...prominence is achieved by facing the truth and proclaiming it loudly.

I remember growing up under MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction...and yes, this was an actual policy) and how us kids worried about getting bombed by the Soviets. Our parents and teachers always told us not to worry because if the Soviets tried that we could hit their territory also and that deterred them from hitting us in the first place. When we asked about the terrorists that were emerging on the scene that did not have a home we were told that they could not get ahold of bombs like that as it was too difficult. I hope that is still true; I doubt it though.

From the article ... the essence:

"Democrats haven't been just weak and ineffective in defending against America's enemies.

This year, two other forces are feverishly working to undermine this election and our war on terror. One force is made up of elite national media based mainly on the East Coast. On several occasions they have given our enemy vital defense secrets. They also disgracefully report and relentlessly repeat only bad news. Such dishonest journalism confuses and deliberately misleads the American public. The TV networks have lost 50% of their audience and still refuse to change their one-sided news coverage.

The other force is represented by terrorists who are desperately attacking as many people as possible in Iraq in the weeks leading up to our election. They believe they can intimidate us like they intimidated Spanish voters in the wake of the Madrid bombings and affect our congressional election in a way that will result in our quick withdrawal from Iraq. But quitters never win.

As difficult and complex as the war has been, America has a very strong economy — with over 95% of our population employed and 70% owning homes — plus freedom, opportunity and a standard of living that other countries can only envy."

Time for conservatives to vote in truly record numbers, to increase Republican control in House and Senate and bury the damned anti-american media whores and their democrat demigods before the bastards get millions of US killed! Oh, the media won't get the point, but when '08 arrives, the Pubbies will have seen what the once silent majority can do when we're really pissed off. Perhaps they will behave differently in the coming months if reocrd numbers of conservatives show their support for our courageous military, protecting them from democrat rule by soundly defeating the anti-military, anti-american traitorous bastards at the ballot box.

Liebermans's lead in CT is a powerful indicator of what will happen to the Demol-left.

All sensible people realize that we are fighting for our lives. Howie Dean and Jean Francois K'ry can bend over and kiss their fannies adieu, IMO.

Absolutely true. Here is an article citing a few of their actions that undermine our intel agencies, a critical tool in the War on Terror:

All this crap circulating about not voting so the damned democrats can come back into control of this nation and piss on our military and our values (don't doubt they will do it in spades if they get back in control ... they've been responsible for defending such heinous things as partial birth infanticide) is sycophancy to quitting, to cut and run, to sissifide retreat from a fight! Time to get mad as hell and vote the abstards out and slap the smamry face of media whoredom trying their damndest to undermine our nation and serve the leftist agenda they love so openly at present. We can't shoot the Anderson Coopers for treasonous behavior toward our military people, but we can sure as hell show them how very opposite their positions are to the feelings of the too siulent majority of conservatives. Time to vote in record numbers, to show illegals we are no longer going to tolerate the societal engineering and they will be sent home sooner rather than later, to apply for entry on legal grounds if they wish to be here. When you think about it, there are so many reasons to have conservatives voting in record numbers, aending democrats to the garbage heap into which they belong.

I take issue with Sowell's essay here:

"Their stated objective is to kill all the Americans they can, eliminate Israel, control and enslave women, and in time overpower and rule with an iron fist nations from Spain to the Far East."

They don't want to stop at there. They've said so.

They intensely hate our freedom and successful way of life.

Completely wrong. They absolutely hate and are indoctrinated to kill all non-believers, i.e., any "people of the book," i.e., Christians & Jews. They also hate and are indoctrinated everybody else that isn't Muslim. Oh, let's not forget the Shiites hate and are indoctrinated to kill the Sunnis. And vice versa. In short, they hate and are indoctrinated from birth to kill everybody else. It has NOTHING to do with our freedom and "successful way of life."

Whenever an author claims that, he's displaying profound ignorance.

Other than that, it's a good article.

I respectfully disagree. As Osama says, we love life and you (the West) love death. Sharia is antithetical to "freedom"...sharia and islam require submission. And the fact that the West is alive means allah is impotent, and God is powerful.

Muslims may hate our materialism (and I think they are right in that it is destructive), but they are themselves incapable of any creative act, good or bad.

Islam is destructive not creative. And it hates the freedom of choice that epitomizes the West and gives power to its creativity.

They hate life...they hate creativity and the errors it might create.

They demand that the baby be thrown out with the bath water.

None of which they could ever accomplish without the complicity of all of islam. This is why the Republicans, (though stronger on defense than democrats), are not the answer either. God only knows what it will take to open up America's, and the West's eyes to recognize the full extent of the threat that islam poses to our civilization. There are over 1 billion islamists out there, so spending 1/2 trillion dollars just to kill a few thousand of them is a ludicrous way to wage war against these babarians. IMHO, neither party 'gets it'.

I don't disagree.

Many Freepers get it and many U.S. voters get it.

And the world is awakening and realizing the threat of islam. Slowly maybe, but it is awakening.

IMO, there is a big war coming. The evil behind islam is not only behind islam...it is behind humanism and atheism and secularism and the ACLU and Hollywood, etc, etc, etc.

Good and Evil are now going to fight a nuclear battle. If that isn't Armageddon, I can't imagine what is.

Absolutely! Hardly anybody "gets it" yet except for a few such as Oriana Fallaci (RIP), Bat Ye'or, Mark Steyn, David Horowitz, Paul Sperry, Robert Redeker, Hirsi Ali, Gregory Davis, Robert Spencer, and a lot of FReepers. And perhaps the people at RNC that made the latest commercial.
