Don't you believe for one minute that Clymer News Network was lost on me!

While eating at a new Burrito palace last night, I noticed that Commie news Network was on the TV. The sound was turned down, but the scrolling subtext, or captions were turned on, I was almost to the point of gagging just reading them. It was some demo love fest, and the bias came through so loud and clear I was shocked, shocked I say.

I disagree.

Life is short, and if an author makes a statement such as "...But the truth is that sometimes a loss is just what is needed to regain a sense of purpose and energy. And that's why the Republicans need to lose in November..." even before they finish the second sentence, then the rest of the article is invalidated.

When Baghdad Bob released statements talking about the Running Dog American Imperialists, one did not have to waste time reading the rest of the statement.

What strikes me in my district. My Republican congressman has not offered one reason to vote for him. Not one. He attacks his opponent, has done some kissing babies, meeting with vets ads. But he has yet said one word exactly about what he wants to do in office the next two years. I wonder if he even knows. Does he want to tackle immigration? Cut taxes? Stay the course in Iraq? Who knows, he isn't saying. I already voted for him, because the dim is obviously much worse, but I think it's symptomatic. He is running on nothing other than his opponent is bad. But he hasn't given voters a reason to vote for him. He also is down in the polls and likely to lose. I wonder if he realizes this might be a reason why.

McCain/Feingold in full production. How does the Party or any individual Republican Congressman address this partisan ad.

No need to. The article is meant to convince cut and run Republicans like you that a stint in the minority is just what the doctor ordered. My point is that the Dems time spent in the minority hasn't done a damn thing for their party except to make them shrill and dangerous. If you buy the theory that losing is a good thing you're just the type of Republican that Democrats love.

However, the history of Parties does make the losing streak the perfect imputes for such an invigoration!

The dems haven't held the House in more than 12 years.....when will they get invigotated? LOL

Probably, but there was this little matter of the war on terror. It costs money to go to war and look for terrorists.

Actually, I believe that reading things like this incessantly and watching it rehashed over and over and over again on the Sunday morning shows, on the front pages of the NYT, LAT and Boston Globe, between the covers of Time and Newsweek and 24x7 in bold letters on CNN is simply playing exactly into the hands of the very people who write and say this rubbish.

Nothing personal, but exactly what points in the article might be new or relevant? That under a Republican controlled Congress, spending has risen dramatically? That somehow, losing would be a positive thing? That it will teach them a lesson somehow and help them gain focus?

Again, I did not call you ignorant (as you did me, by implication) but I believe the most ignorant thing you can do, particularly with Liberals, is to let them build a ideological fortress on a false premise, which is something they excel at.

And once you have let them build that, it becomes the truth and becomes nearly impossible to dislodge.

I believe that allowing that to happen is worse than ignorance. Ignorance takes many forms, and one of the worst is not looking below the form of a statement and examining both the intent and the logical underpinnings.

It looks like a good editorial piece to me. Losing can have its benefits by reinvigorating the party. Most of the Republicans elected today are not fiscally conservative, just big spenders.

You are the kind of voter NO side needs. You are illiterate. There just isn't any other explanation.

Worse, you don't know ANYTHING about me... ESPECIALLY enough to say I am some "cut and run Republican"!!!

In FACT, I have been taking guff from hard-core conservatives for the very fact that I have written that losing is NOT an option and that voting for any other Party than GOP is losing!

Yet, you call me a "cut and run Republican"?

You are clueless as well as illiterate.

"Most of the Republican elected today are not fiscally conservative, just big spenders."

They certainly are, but does any thinking person honestly believe the Democrats in Congress would have spent less money over the past 12 years? The idea that the Democrats would have been fiscally responsible is laughable, to say the least.

True that the democrats are also big spenders. However, Republicans advertise that they are the fiscally conversative party. They have not lived up to the hype!

The Republicans have been a disappointment on spending, but as an adult, you know that in the voting booth, you can't compare the party in power to some perfect, mythical party that never makes a bad decision. That perfect party doesn't exist and will never exist. We are stuck with the Republicans or the Democrats for the foreseeable future--one or the other will be in power come January.

The Republicans have not lived up to the promise of fiscal conservatism, but neither would the Democrats, as we know from history. And on all the other issues conservatives hold dear, while the Republicans may be disappointing at times, the Democrats would be a complete, total and unmitigated disaster. This country cannot afford for the Democrats to regain power--it's that simple.
