I would add the following to Reason 6 (Framing the Debate):

Conservatives should vote in great numbers to send a clear, unequivocal message to the Democrat Media that they DO NOT control the direction and fate of our nation.

Good article.

However I think Medved isn't entirely right when he says, "When a political party gets thrashed at the polls, it never moves in a rightward (or leftward) direction: it inevitable moves to the center."

When Bush lost in 1992 the GOP did move right, and gave us the Contract with America and Republican control of Congress in 1994. Before the Dems nominated Carter in 1976, they elected a far-left Congress in 1974. That Congress cut off funding for South Vietnam and restricted intelligence gathering. (The terrible work of the Class of '74 is still being felt today.) And I don't think I would say that the Dems have moved to the "center" after their loss in 2004--unless you consider Dean/Pelosi to be the center!

However, Medved's point is a good corrective to all those conservatives who think losing Congress would definitely result in the Republicans becoming a Reaganite party again. Although it is possible that the GOP could become more coservative if they lost Congress, it is certainly not inevitable. The MSM will say that the GOP lost because it was too "right wing" and many RINOs will agree.

A very likely scenario is that once out of power the GOP will become as ideologically clueless the the Tories in the UK are today.
