Unlike in SF, The CBS evening news is on at 6:30PM in L.A.
Do they usually tape a second broadcast for the West Coast, or is it 2 hour old crap in SF by the time it is shown there? I thought they usually taped another show, either at 7:30 Eastern or 8:30 Eastern (5:30 Pacific) to keep it somewhat more current.

And we should listen to them about "global warming", terrorism, and the domestic economy as well ;)
Is this the same CBS who graces us with polls that we should pay attention too, but whose demographic research into Couric's appeal said they should hire her as the anchor?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I'm perfectly serious here.
Before they appointed this airhead as a News Anchor, the blogosphere, the comedians, indeed all of us idiots out here in la-la land that are the ones these networks are trying to gain as watchers, were out and about and poking fun at this decision that one would have to be dead to have missed the derision.
But they went ahead with the plan anyway? When the middle class minions were snickering and abuzz, using whatever medium we had, FreeRepublic, Blogs...that sort of thing, well didn't we practically TELL them it wouldn't work?
This is what's going to kill the Lamestream albeit the death will be slow. They think they know what's good for US and they keep leading us horses to water and we ain't drinking. Rememeber how the pundits were lecturing us idiots about how unfair it was for us to refuse to purchase the Dixie Chicks' crap? And look at how we continued to not buy their stuff and ignored what was good for us.
Give it time. Oprah's day is coming.

This is just too funny, and the CBS suits are stuck with a HUGH monetary liability, should they decide to send the ugly little gnome packing.

Katie having problems filling the anchor chair??? Who could have guessed??? Lying with authority
is a tough job.
In any case, cbs is typical of many major companies these days caught up in PC sensitivity mode. They bought into the Dim's class/gender warfare BS and it's gonna leave a mark.

You are so right. Anybody with an ounce of sense who'd worked in the industry for five minutes could have seen this coming. Who do you blame when a plane crashes with a drunken incompetent idiot at the helm? The drunk & incompetent flight captain or the reckless & irresponsible airline management who put him there?
Qaty al Couriq is too much of a moron to even have a clue that she's an out of her league loser who was gonna fall flat on her face with her tediously trite 24/7/365 "Bush Is The Spawn of the Devil" schtick. The man who made the executive decision to put this pathetically sophmoric DNC propagandist in that chair was Les Moonves.
Moonves is the man who has singlehandedly destroyed the franchise of CBS News, first by keeping that barking moonbat Rather on long past his sell-by date & now by trying to stuff this ultra-biased banshee down America's throat. How many times does this man get to screw the pooch so badly? Do they have to keep him on just because he's Julie Chen's husband or something?

CBS could pull itself out of the ratings abyss, if it removed its bias for a week.
As we are called to love our enemies, here are some suggestions for CBS:
1) report a series on the positive developments, public works projects, personal stories etc. in Iraq
2) report personal stories on what families have done to help their children with the recent tax cuts.
3) report personal stories of people who had abortions and regretted it for the rest of their lives
4) report on the difference in cost of education between government mandated schools (~$8400 per student), and private schools (~$4500 per student) or homeschoolers (~$1000 per student), and the inverse relationship in test scores.
There are four suggestions of 4 real news stories, that if CBS reports, their ratings will go up.
I would bet that none of those stories will be reported, as their bias won't allow it, even as the stories are accurate, newsworthy, and relevant. Their bias won't allow it, even if they loose money.

Something tells me she wants the C in CBS to stand for Couric - you can figure out what the BS means.

It isn't particularly Couric that's the problem it just might be CBS news. After the Rather fiasco people don't trust them no matter who they put in front of the camera.

Usually, when an 'on the air talent' goes down this quick out of the gate, one or two of the 'suits' gets the boot too.
Wonder who it will be?

Still wearing the jacket, eh?
Waiting for the jacket (and bra) to be dropped and she starts going for the silk-blouse-under-hot-studio-lights nature (er, natural) look.
