Scott Ritter and Al-Zarqawi (Vanity/Request)

I recall reading a couple years ago some hit piece by Scott Ritter against the Bush Administration. The gist of it was that Zarqawi was an imagined and perhaps invented threat, that he was likely already dead, and that the Bush administration needed a nemesis around which to rally US support in Iraq, so Zarqawi was over-hyped. Does anyone have, or know of, a link to such an article? I have been googling for a while (that is a verb now, right?) and found nothing.

I can't answer about the article...but I do know that he will be on Booknotes on C-span on Sunday....he has written a book.

The "gist of it" is that ever since Ritter was hired by a wealty Iraqi-American, there is very little he has not invented and "imagined", on his agenda to help appease the Baathist's in Iraq.

I'm sure Ritter also believes the airliner (used to train hijackers ala 9/11), train (ala Madrid bombings) and double decker bus (ala London attacks) making up the Salman Pak terrorist training camps run by Saddam were also just a mirage.

Scott Ritter is the Ramsey Clark of his generation. A traitorous liar who will say anything for a buck, especially from sworn enemies of America. Why these guys are not in jail is another indictment on America's resolve to protect itself.
