Kerry's comment was being discussed on local radio here in Orlando this morning and an active member of the military had some great points to make about this.

He said that why would it deem you "dumb" to graduate high school at 18, with no experience and possbily no money for college, only to join the military and make almost $20k per year, free medical for you and your family, free room and board, free clothing, money for college, and they'll even pay for 75% of your Masters degree? Yes, that is exceedingly dumb. (eyes rolling)

Well, the plain truth is that most who join the military aren't college educated. I suppose Kerry was trying to say that poor people are victimized by society by being funneled into the military more than saying those in the military aren't good human material. The hypocritical thing here is that Neal Boortz is a Social Darwinist to the tips of his fingers.
