In discussing music from time to time,  we realized that many people have no idea what a song's title or lyrics truly mean. The interpretations can take on a life of it's own, but the mysteries and legends can continue forever. 

Tonight, we take you through a little journey through Song Titles and Lyrics! If you'd like to know more about any song titles or lyrics,  please google them. Don't take everything in the sections below seriously. We're just sharing some of the more *common* interpretations!

ACDC - Highway To Hell	Was this song truly about Hell and the Devil? Or was it merely about their description about life on the road?
Nena - 99 Luftballons (German) Nena - 99 Red Balloons (English)	Is this just an innocent song about red balloons? Perhaps this song has something to do with East/West Germany and the fears of the Cold War.
Alannah Myles - Black Velvet	Many believe this song is about Elvis Presley or his black velvet shirt.  The more amused among us (we refer to them as *folks who are bored*) believe this song has something to do with Canadian Whiskey or a Black Cocktail! We'll stick with Elvis!
Mr. Mister - Kyrie	Admit it, you thought this song was about a chick named Kyrie Laser, huh? If so, you need more Catholic friends! "Kyrie Eleison" is Greek for "Lord, have mercy." It is used as a prayer in both Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox services. Greek was the original language of the New Testament and it was later translated in to Latin. From Songfacts!
Pat Benatar - Hell Is For Children	This song isn't about sending children to hell.  The simple explanation might be it is about child abuse! Songfacts.com
The Police - Every Breath You Take	This song has been played over and over at weddings in America. The sad part-->It's not a love song! The *brighter* among us seem to believe that it is about Big Brother (that's the government to the rest of us) or a stalker...or a divorce. None of which exhibits love!
Rush - The Trees	Click here for more information. Why? Either a member of Rush knows what he's talking about or those fans think they know more than him? Which is it folks? Hehe!
Prince - Let's Go Crazy	You'll need a drink! Go grab one! Is this a song about living in a crazy world and wanting to go crazy? Or is there a spiritual aspect of this song?
Prince - I Would Die 4 U	Is this song about Jesus? Click here for more info.
Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence	As pointed out by someone else, if he enjoyed silence..why is he singing? Anyways, is this song about a relationship or drugs?
The Bangles - Eternal Flame	This song isn't about drugs! This is explained here by the person who co-wrote the song. It does have an Elvis inspiration!
Billy Idol - White Wedding	Is this song about drugs? Is it about his ex-wife? Or perhaps it's about his little sister getting married and he wrote this song to let her know he disagreed.  We prefer the latter explanation!
Haircut 100 - Love Plus One	Is this song about the Falklands War? Or is it just a silly song? Well, at least no one believes it is about drugs. That must count for something!
Tori Amos - Cornflake Girl	Is this song about Cornflakes? This song is about betrayal between women!
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance	Is this song about dancing? AIDS? Or is it an anti-nukes song?

Michael Penn - No Myth	Is this a simple love song about unrequited love? Or is it about his former sister in law, Madonna? We doubt it has anything to do with Madonna!
Duran Duran - The Reflex	According to Simon LeBon (via Songfacts), this song was written over a few bottles of wine and has no clue what it means. Nice, huh? Alcohol=drugs! (There, that should make those that feel that all songs have a drug interpretation feel better!)
REO Speedwagon - Keep On Loving You	Nice love song, huh? This song was written by the Lead singer when he found out his girl had cheated on him. He meant *every word that I said, I will love you forever*.
Don Mclean - American Pie	First, Madonna wasn't the originator of this song. Sheesh! Second, there are various interpretations of this song. However, the first part is definitely about the *day the music died*. It was a tribute to Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens.
White Town - Your Woman	This song has nothing to do with the lead singer wanting to be a female. That was comical! This song has more to do with the lead singer falling in love with a girl he can't have for obvious reasons if you listen to the song!
James Taylor - Fire and Rain	There are many interpretations of this song as well. There are 3 different verses and they have 3 different meanings!
