Father-in-law passed two weeks ago, WWII decorated veteran, had military honor guard and full military funeral. After beautiful ceremony, I grabbed the kids and hugged each one and said thank you for everything. They were so perfect, so crisp and polished, "Sorry for your loss, ma'am." I just kept hugging them and saying how much I appreciated their service to the country. I must have looked like a fool, but I was really trying to hug each and every G.I. with those six young men and women. We had the Navy, Army and Marines represented.
No one could hold back the tears. I heard more than just me sniffing and saw tracks of tears in make-up. Men there, too. Just so awe inspiring. I love our military who serve without a thought and with such charity in their hearts. Every hug they give a kid in the Middle East is a hug of hope from me.
