INGRATE! If it was not for one of the leading GOP people in the country, i.e. Rush, Lieberman would most likely be running a deli in Hartford...

Even if there were a "debt", it would be foolish for Lieberman to admit it. After all, first he needs to get elected in a state in which the GOP is derided. It was idiocy for Republicans to allow the notion of GOP support for Lieberman to become established in the first place-- all that does is drive votes to Lamont.

Besides, Lieberman's only virtue from the GOP's standpoint is his relative clearheadedness on the War on Terror. In all other respects he votes as far-Left as possible, as befits a leading avatar of the "Third Way" socialist movement.

Hey we all disagree with him on most domestic issues, he's a Lib, but as far as the war goes he's with us. he has said he won't forget those that didn't support him.

He's saying the right things to get re-elected in Connecticut - I say good for him and I expect him to vote with his real friends after the election. At this point I'm sure he knows who deserves payback.

Lieberman loses his rank when he gets elected as an independent instead of respecting his party's nominee. He has nothing to lose by leaving the (D)oofus party.

The fact is that Joe will be more willing to cause Chafee-like trouble for the Dems. There are a number of votes that he casts with the Dems just out of loyalty. Not so much anymore, although I wouldn't expect too much out of him.

You're right, of course.

Anyone still conscious and sober knows that in Connecticut saying you're going to caucus with Republicans equals certain defeat.

Give the guy a break, and watch what happens after his win.

Do you honestly think he feels warm and fuzzy toward the Democrat establishment at this point?

JMO, but put Joe in the Republican column (for all intents and purposes) after tomorrow.

"Parties are important, but they're not as important as the public interest."

And how many terms did it take this dummy to figure this out? Lieberman POS.

Just a guess but I don't think Liberman is going to be received kindly by other Rat senators. Before they take him back he will have to sign something that says "I will not agree with President Bush, not only one time."

Non sequitur. A politician's mouth develops into an independent [from the brain] organ, and operates all on its own - witness kerry.

Joe Lieberman is a dyed in the wool liberal 'rat, who just happens to support the war. He has no intention of being anything else once back in the Senate. Anyone expecting anything more from him is being unrealistic.

After some serious thought, I'm votin' for Liberman (and Shays, and Rell). My hope is that we can get another SCOTUS nominee through, to at least a floor vote. There is the possibility he'll flip caucuses.

Jeez, Joe, can you ask them to pull the knives out of your back before you kiss up to your former fellow Democrats?

>>...of course, he may reconsider when he sees how the backbiting bastards in the Democratic Party treat him like the fertilizer in the punch bowl after he kicks the @$$ of the Dem candidate in this election...<<

He is saying the right things to get elected as an independent in a Democratic state. That's his job right now.
