With as many elections as there are going on...how would you find the results you were looking for on a single thread?
I like the idea of threads by State...or even threads by major (contested) Representative, Senate, and Governor races.

To: Dog
With only one thread on election returns, we would have to sort through thousands of comments to see the news on any one state.
IMO, all posts should be limited to election numbers until most of the numbers are in. [g]

One live thread for about 300 races of national interest? No one could refresh the thread fast enough to keep up.

Why don't we turn the whole site into one single thread?
Do you understand the concept of using threads to seperate things by topic? Putting all results into one thread would create a monster thread that everyone would be reloading every couple seconds. Nobody would be able to keep up with it.

The Mods have done this many times and their approach is the correct one.
Doing it by region as they are splits up the hundreds of races into a handful of threads.

Sometimes I wish FREEREPUBLIC was more like a message board.
The format is a little clunky during certain times like big events, the war, elections etc.

Chappaquidick Ted just won re-election. I didn't even know he was running. I told my kids no senator in CA was running this year too -- I didn't know DiFi was up for re-election until I saw her on the ballot. No one ever bothers running against these people? Guess it saves them a lot of money not to even ATTEMPT a campaign!
