Michael Savage gets a lesson in politics 101

Posted on 11/10/2006 3:00:44 PM PST by RussP

I actually liked Michael Savage at one time, but now I am embarrassed for him every time I hear him (which is not often). The guy has become a clueless loon.

To show off his "independence," he refused to endorse Republicans. Fantastic, Michael! Then the day after the election it finally occurred to him that a Democratic Congress is now empowered to work with Bush on his amnesty program for illegal immigrants!

What kind of moron could not figure that out *before* the election?

Thanks a lot, Michael, for sitting on your hands and doing nothing when it counted most to help stop illegal immigration. You're a true patriot, but not a very bright one!

Michael calls Rush Limbaugh a shill for the Republicans, but Rush figured out *before* the election that (1) Bush is not on the ballot, and (2) if the Republicans don't win Congress, the Democrats will. In other words, Rush passed politics 101 a long time ago, but Michael never did.

I happened to be listening yesterday when a caller tried to point this out to him. How did Michael reply? He couldn't argue rationally, so he resorted to his usual 3rd-grade-level name calling and telling the guy to change his underwear. I kid you not.

Ironically, Michael wrote a book calling liberalism a mental illness, but Michael clearly has a mental illness of his own. He has become some kind of deranged, angry clown.

I wonder if he caused 3000 Republicans in a couple of states to sit on their butts and not vote.

That's how much we lost the US Senate by.

Think about that when the next Supreme Court vacancy occurs.

Supreme Court openings change things for a generation.

Thanks a lot, Savage.

If Bush got rid of Rumsfeld months ago as Savage was calling for, we'd have the Senate.

It's laughable when Savage mocks Limbaugh (Hush Bimbo as he calls him)If it weren't for Limbaugh, Savage would be in the South Pacific somewhere writing articles about pollen.

Mike is also the only one in talk radio who criticized the GOP BEFORE the election. The day after the loss, then the rest of the talk radio guys figured out how screwed up the party is.

That is a flat out lie.

A good number of Americans, including more than a few conservatives (here and elsewhere) adopted the attitude that maybe it might be a good idea for the GOP to lose Congress, because it couldn't possibly get any worse under the Dems. I wonder what it's going to take those people, and how long, to admit that they suffered from a lack of imagination.

P.S.: When (not if) Jerry Brown does stuff that has the Savage fan club howling, I'll take great pleasure in telling them I told them so.

Michael Savage is a poorly played Conservative Talk Show host played by a plant scientist named Michael Weiner.

After hiding from his real name, he makes a living off twisting the real names of Conservative talk show hosts.

He is extremely bad for the Conservative movement.

P.S. Did you know that Michael Savage has a PHD? He will tell you as often as Kerry telling you he served in Vietnam.

Savage is entertaing at times and like all manics he can, at times be lucid and say something quite remarkable in it's truthfullness.

The rest of the time it's just a free association rant.

I was putting my kid's new bed from IKEA together yesterday, when I tuned into his show. He started a sentance with, "On the way into the show today I did something different...." I yelled out, "you took your medicine."

My wondered what all the laughing coming from my daughter's bedroom was about.

Savage has a very large liberal audience because he trashes the GOP 90% of the time !

He's playing to his base but I find he's not well informed on most issues and gets 100% of his talking points from Drudge headlines but trashes Drudge for being a shrill for the GOP.

Oh, but listening to Savage, we should also get rid of Condi Rice, "the worst Secretary of State in history."

It's easy to criticize everyone. It's the saps who fall for his gig that amaze me.

I agree. I stopped listening to him right before the election. All he kept doing was come down on the Republicans, over and over again. When he decided to not support Republicans at all in this election, I couldn't help but lose respect for him. I simply think it is dangerously wrong to "throw the baby out with the bath water." Granted, (some) Republicans in the House totally blew it. And now we are all suffering the consequences. Man, so much patience and hard work to get control in both houses, to then mess it up so completely! On a side note, I'm proud of Allen in VA for not requesting a recount, even though he was legally entitled to one. Republicans handle defeat in a classy manner, unlike the Dems....recall Gore and the crazy 2000 debacle?
