Murder spree in Tijuana after US authorities detain suspected drug kingpin
Fox News "Weekend Live" | Nov 12, 2006 | Adam Housley

Posted on 11/12/2006 10:43:39 AM PST by John Jorsett

A murder spree began in Tijuana, Mexico shortly after American authorities detained suspected drug kingpin Francisco Javier Arellano Félix last August. In September, 44 people were killed, including 5 police officers. Police say the killings are the result of internal strife within the drug cartels, as those in the organizations kill anyone in their way and fight for the power that was vacated upon Arellano Félix's arrest. The killings dropped a bit in October but have since intensified with 11 homicides in the first week of November. The violence has prompted the city's Secretary of Public Security, Luis Javier Algorri Franco, to request that the Mexican army be put on the streets to help make the city safer. He says the army has the large caliber weapons, automatic weapons, and training capable of confronting the violent drug gangs.

8 police officers are dead since September. The mayor of Tijuana says that his streets are still safe.

Attention: The White House

And this is what you want to open our country up to, by destroying the border between Mexico and the U.S. -- just beautiful. Ah yes, compassionate conservatism and the North American Union....only in your worst nightmares.

In Mexico the tail is wagging the dog. The criminals are running the country.

This doesn't even include the huge number of kidnappings that are going on in TJ right now. If you're middle class, you're a target. They've even started "express" kidnappings where they snatch you off the street and drive you around to ATMs to get cash to hand over to them. A lot of Mexicans who have money are bugging out and heading for safer regions of Mexico or for the US (in some areas of which, ironically, the gang's reach is so pervasive that they can be threatened here as well).

We're just making them MAD. This will undoubtedly help recruit new drug traffickers.

Do you really think anyone capable of making policy cares what you or I think or for our general welfare? If I was the head of a mega-billion dollar corporation I might get some consideration, otherwise forget it. They continually tell us our opinions matter but that's just to keep us quiet. They're busy importing a new, more docile, underclass who will gratefully work for a pittance without expecting all those pesky "rights" promised by the blood of a bunch of now irrelevant Dead White Men.

Well put. It is much easier to control peasants than it is to control educated, aware, patriotic American citizens who will fight for freedom and their Constitution.

Not really. Criminal organizations are like any other business -- except that they don't have any legitimate way to handle dispute resolution. And with the CEO "forced into retirement" you expect the board of directors is gonna fight over his successor.

Most of us who've spent time in Mexico who don't have any connection to the drug trade don't worry much about it. Tourists, for example, have absolutely nothing to worry about.

And if those peasants can vote and create a majority, well, it no longer matters what the educated, aware, patriotic American citizens who will fight for freedom and their Constitution think now does it?

Yes, it is all about power and control. Washington stopped being a government for and by the people a long time ago.
