INDIA renewed a high security alert at its airports following a warning that the al-Qaeda terror network could try and hijack US-bound passenger flights.

“We sounded an alert after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) forwarded an email that spoke of the possibility of an al-Qaeda attempt to hijack US-bound flights from India,” a home ministry official said.

The official, who did not wanted to be named, said the email written by an “unknown entity” appeared to have originated from India and was received by the FBI Saturday at its headquarters in the US.

“While the 'target' was US-bound flights, the nature of threat mentioned in the email was 'hijacking”', he said.

"Ask the 300 people on board that airliner..."

Amen! We've become shock proof when the idea of loosing 300 lives doesn't make us shudder in horror!! One innocent life lost is too many.

We can only pray that the da#@ demos wake up when they see what the Pres. and his staff have been dealing with while they've been shooting off their mouths, safe in their own little world. It is frightening to see how far they will go, and have gone, for "the party" instead of the safety of this nation and our troops that are protecting their butts!!

Nana

The terrorists are less likely to attack the U.S. from now until the 2008 presidential election, because an attack here would strengthen President Bush and conservatives in general. The terrorists want a Democrat to gain the White House, because they know that would lead to the weakening of U.S. military defense.

The friendly guys below want to personally thank the Bush Haters on both sides for enabling them, making them stronger, more respectable and able to commit more 9/11's. They are so much better for America than a strong and evil Bush! Their lessons for Americans are about to begin in ernest. Bush haters on the right and left rejoice as the lessons to America really start.

Terrorists don't "try AND hijack," they "try TO hijack."

Excellent point. That should of been caught by an editor. ;-)

Nah.....!

Pelosi will quote Ghandi and then all the Dimmies will hold hands on the steps of the Capitol and sing the Pepsi song...the one about "I'd like to buy the world a coke...." ( where everyone is singing on a mountain top ).

Perhaps a jetliner filled with civilians has more value to a jihadi than just its fuel payload.

Don't always assume the next plot is going to be just like the last plot.

If the FBI thought the theat was not credible, why did they alert India and why are their airports on high alert -- this article said there was an earlier alert and the FBI renewed it. These actions are not consistent with a "noncredible threat".

Pelosi will no doubt send Joe Wilson to India for some sweet tea. He'll come back to her with a report.....NOT TO WORRY, NO PROBLEM, MY DEAR.

They're just trying to scare the American voter, but the electorate is too smart for that. (sarcasm)

What I would like to know is if the Congressional Presidential Over Site Committee authorized the intercept of this email. Otherwise, here comes another congressional investigation to determine if Al Qaeda's civil rights were violated.

Well how should I know? Ask FOXNews. In fact, I just heard FOXNews report the same thing...that is, "The FBI says that this threat does not come from a credible source."

By the way, avoid the use of double negatives.

"How does Pelosi plan to deal with this"

It'll still be Bush's problem to solve- why is it Pelosi's and not Lott's? The speaker has no authority to act in police and security matters.

My wife flew in from Delhi yesterday and said security was tight. She also said the country was "depressing," and then cried for 5 minutes after walking in the door.
