Second Thoughts (Department of Peace)
County Press ^

Posted on 11/18/2006 7:25:05 PM PST by Tribune7

I voted the straight Republican ticket on election night, but I held my nose when I did it.

I was afraid, and I still am, that if the Democrats got in, we would cut and run in Iraq. We finally have some sensible judges on the Supreme Court who abide by the U.S. Constitution. I hope that doesn't change.

There are a lot of unbalanced Democrats. Watch for them to pass the Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act that was submitted by Goofy Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) along with 74 Democratic co-sponsors. They propose a new "Department of Peace and Nonviolence" as well as "National Peace Day."

I guess we need this Department to help the Islamofascists with their fireworks display on "National Peace Day."

Since the DOP(e) is a federal agency, I wonder if the federal agents who staff it will be armed, as are most other federal agents. Will they even be allowed to carry at work? Will they be permitted to own guns at home? Will they be required to be vegetarians, or even vegans? Wouldn't want to send mixed messages to the people, now, would we?

They propose a new "Department of Peace. . . ."

We already have one. Have had one since the Constitution was established. It's called the "Department of State." The Department of War (now Defense) was for conducting war, the Department of State was for conducting peace. Pretty simple.

Well, remember that the socialists are trying to put some faux purpose in their miserable existence...re-inventing America is one of their aims.

Department of Peace...what a crock.

The Dept of Peace was a major project of a retired UN official I knew in Asia. He was a commimtted liberal.

He claimed to be a Christian yet didn't know if Jesus was God or the Bible was true or not. He reportedly made that right before he passed away this past year.

There was no reasoning with the man. He was rabid, hostile, stern, harsh, perfectionistic in a number of respects and especially about the liberal perspective, priorities, values, goals. He was an engineer by training and had had an important role in the construction of the St Louis Arch.

He has certainly had his perspective adjusted at this point.

Well, we already have an entire federal department devoted to instilling peace and nonviolence. We call it the Defense Department, Donald Rumsfeld ran it until the Democrats compelled his retirement, and it should annihilate the enemies of the United States to achieve peace and force them to abandon violence against us.

We call "National Peace Day" Veterans Day in honor of all those who put their lives on the line to annihilate the enemies of the United States and bring us peace.

Unfortunately I doubt that's what Kucinich has in mind.

No it is not. This slimey little handwringing liberal pacifist, is a major appeaser in line with the Kerry doctrine. He would be on his knees under every podium in the U.N....

Wonderful. A new Washington DC facility staffed no doubt by federal employees who want to kill after their 2-hour commutes.
