Peretz is a member of the VRWC, evidently.

And who next will have their reputation and standing destroyed by Olmert the next time Olmert requests a scapegoat?

There are unknown numbers of US military who bailed out of the Armed Forces instead of live under Clinton's boot, many say the US military has never recovered.

The mass resignations in protest of the Olmert lead forced expulsion of settlers, and this politicized destruction of commanding officers' reputations is going to cripple Israel's military for years to come.

Politically-Correct Warfare has doomed the West, in Iraq, Israel, and all future conflicts.

"Thank You, Cancer-On-America Liberals."

Don't blame the liberals. Blame the Republicans who let the left do this.

Blame Frist. He was a weak majority leader.

Ehud? I guess Perez blew it, he did not surrender to the Islamics. Ehud would not make that error.

"A year and a half later – including disengagement and one problematic war – Sharon's associates admit in a talk with Ynet: 'Arik made a mistake in appointing Dan Halutz as the chief of staff.' So why did Sharon appoint Halutz? 'At the time,' one Sharon associate says, 'Halutz was one of the more intelligent people around. There was somebody to talk to and finalize things with. Arik thought Halutz would be able to handle all the technological issues and prepare the army for a clash with Iran, while Arik himself would oversee developments in the field, in the ground forces."

Halutz was a mistake -- Attila Somfalvi

Barak was OK as Chief of Staff and he's definitely moved to the right in his views since losing the election to Ariel Sharon. Olmert has to replace Peretz from Labour in order to keep Labour in the coalition. Of what Labour has to offer Barak is probably the best choice. The only other viable choice would be Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.

Personally, I'd rather see Olmert bring Likud into the coalition and jettison Labour if need be, but that won't happen. Bring back Dr. Moshe Arens as DM would be appropriate for the current situation. Israel needs someone tough and experienced in the position. Barak is at least experienced.

Ehud would just unilaterally pull out one fine day when he had nothing better to do!

Personally, I want to see Bibi or someone that has spine, smarts and understands what is going on and won't kow-tow to Iran, Hamas, Abbas, Hezbullbleep, Condi, Bush, Hillary, the Dems, the UN or anyone. I would not trust Barak any more than I'd trust Olmert or his crew. Bibi is not perfect, but Israel's Daladier (Olmert) has got to go; he'll sell Israel down the river even more the longer he's in power.
