Updated Web Site, GPS Monitoring Unveiled For N.C. Sex Offenders

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Convicted sex offenders will have fewer places to hide from authorities in 2007, say state officials who on Monday unveiled an updated registry Web site and satellite tracking system for the worst offenders.

In reference to a WRAL article posted today, I have a simple question. If our goevernment can use GPS technology to track convicted sex offenders, then why can't the government use GPS technology to track illegal aliens, etc. that are suppose to show up to court for misdemeanors, citizen status, etc.?

Indeed, and why can't they track individual citizens who haven't committed a crime? Sounds like slippery slope material to me.

The question that comes to my mind... If you need to track a convicted sex offender because they threaten society so much, WHY LET THEM OUT!?!??

They have tacked Dems to the tune of $90K in a freezer in NOLA. But, as with illegal immigration and all kinds of proof (video), the elites in government turn a blind eye.

"why can't the government use GPS technology to track illegal aliens..."

Can. Don't want to.

As I've noted on almost every "burn the child molester" thread I've read here, what we do to them today will be done to our children just one generation later. Next it will be rapists, then illegals, then children (for their own protection), then everyone. Government is not exactly hard to predict in their behavior pattern.

You've got it! It's more of a question to the sheeple as to the motives behind the government. It's right now the targeted sex offender as a means to implement more government control as you said, then another group.

Funny / Sad thing. Simply physically secure the border and deport the illegals when caught as well as keep the repeat sex offenders and habitual criminals behind bars. The Gov can't do anything theat resembles common sense 'cause the kickbacks would be severely dimisished.
