Terri's Story
Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation ^ | December 3,2006 | Schindler Foundation

Posted on 12/03/2006 3:03:26 AM PST by 8mmMauser

Theresa Marie Schindler was born to Robert and Mary Schindler on December 3, 1963. She was the first of three children the Schindlers would have.

Terri was a shy, but comical, child who had an affinity for music, animals and the arts. She kept a small circle of friends and was dear to schoolmates, neighboring families and her own extended family.

Following high school, Terri came into her own. She developed a knack for sketching and doodling. She enjoyed outings with her friends. She was an adoptive mother to the family’s dog, Bucky.

Terri attended Catholic School while growing up and remained close to her faith throughout her life.

In 1983, Terri met Michael Schiavo at Bucks County Community College and the two began dating. He was the first romantic interest Terri had.

The couple was engaged within a few months and married a year later at Terri’s church in Southampton, Pa. She was 21.

In 1986, Terri and Michael relocated to Pinellas County, Florida and her parents followed three months later.

In 1990, at the age of 26, Terri suffered a mysterious cardio-respiratory arrest for which no cause has ever been determined. She was diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy – neurological injury caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. Terri was placed on a ventilator, but was soon able to breathe on her own and maintain vital function. She remained in a severely compromised neurological state and was provided a PEG tube to ensure the safe delivery of nourishment and hydration.

On March 31, 2005, Terri Schindler Schiavo died of marked dehydration following more than 13 days without nutrition or hydration under the order of Circuit Court Judge, George W. Greer of the Pinellas-Pasco’s Sixth Judicial Court. Terri was 41.

As they continue to trash Frist, they just can't help bringing up the Terri Factor, over and over, his sin of trying to help Terri...

........................

Frist Offered False Medical Diagnosis From Senate Office. “Bill Frist (R-Tenn.), a renowned heart surgeon before becoming Senate majority leader, went to the floor late Thursday night for the second time in 12 hours to argue that Florida doctors had erred in saying Terri Schiavo is in a ‘persistent vegetative state.’ ‘I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office,’ he said.”

From the Catholic Sentinal...

..................

LONDON — Policy leaning toward euthanasia is on the advance in England, fueled by some powerful officials.

First it was the nation’s leading doctors’ group telling a bioethics council that severely disabled newborns ought to be killed. Now a leading government minister says that physicians who refuse to take part in withdrawing food and treatment from incapacitated patients may face criminal charges.

Lord Charles Falconer, the Lord Chancellor of England, has warned doctors in a recent statement that they may receive prison sentences if they refuse to nix treatments, nutrition and fluids when requested.

He said physicians who don’t “allow patients to die” by denying them food and water, as was the case with Terri Schiavo in Florida, could be charged.

Now it is Liberals and Libertarians coalescing. What will we have next, Libyans and Librarians chumming together?

Liberals and libertarians may find more overlap in some aspects of policy, particularly on social issues. Philosophical libertarians may be as appalled as many liberals by government intervention in the Terri Schiavo case, in the push to create laws against gay marriage, in the movement to build a wall to reduce Mexican immigration, and in the increasing push to regulate and ban abortion. But if we look carefully at these four examples, the underlying principles at work differ as often as they overlap. William Saletan’s excellent book on the evolution of the abortion debate, for example, shows that liberal advocates who had initially framed their support for abortion as part of a feminist struggle for equal rights over time moved to adopt a libertarian “keep the government out of my bedroom” approach in order to win over conservative and male voters. That strategy was quite effective in protecting efforts to curtail abortion rights, but, according to Saletan, it also made it more difficulty to argue for public funding of abortion for poor women...

A Liberal-Libertarian Coalition?

Terri Schiavo
Posted by Bobby Schindler on Dec 07, 2006 10:34

Terri Schiavo made your top 10 list in 2005. However, it is difficult not to take notice of how the mainstream media continues to do what they can to justify what Michael Schiavo and the courts did to her.

From the beginning the popular media missed most of the story. When Michael Schiavo admitted in 1994 that he intended to marry the woman he was living with once Terri was dead, he effectively abandoned her. Despite this, and the fact that the hearsay testimony of Terri’s “wishes” suddenly surfaced eight years after her still unexplained collapse, Judge George Greer ruled to end Terri’s life.

There is much more the media continues to incorrectly report. However, if anyone would take the time to look into the facts of this case, it would be difficult not to recognize that this was one of the most egregious miscarriages of justice ever to have taken place in our nation.

We can only hope that what happened to my sister will one day be exposed.

Terri Shiavo cover up continues
Posted by mattpack on Dec 07, 2006 09:00

Although the story of Terri Shiavo took place in 2005, the cover up continues as her killer walks free and profits from her murder. Call it what you want, but when you look at the facts to this case, if things had been handled differently from day one Michael Shiavo would be in jail right now. I was never really aware how much the media misreports until you're close to the story and know the facts. Then you read what the media "thinks" are correct facts without doing any true form of reporting or verifying of a rumor. It's really very sad that this cover up cost someone her life and the cover up continues in 2006.

The hidden truth of Terri Schiavo
Posted by Caron on Dec 07, 2006 08:34

Absolutely the worst cover up was the truth to what really happened to Terri Schiavo. She was not brain dead. She was not on life support. She was not dying. She was not a political pawn, not until her estranged spouse made her into one. She was a human being that the right to die crowd embraced and turned her into a cruel mascot, by misleading the public, to further their agenda. And certainly by far the biggest coverup is the TRUTH that was not told by her spouse in his "tell all" book. Shame he didn't explain why he told different accounts on what happened the night of Terri's collapse from what he stated in the malpractice trial to what he stated in the guardianship trials. Let's not forget the entire buddy system and cover ups to further ones political and/or career aspirations. A real shame. A real misleading and erroneously reported story by the Florida newspapers. Shame on the people involved to dehydrate a disabled human being to death. Shame. Shame.

Anyone who wishes to, might mention, on Operation Spike, that the autopsy report ruled out the "bulimia theory" of Terri's supposed "collapse." The media were so busy saying that the autopsy vindicated Michael, they didn't notice that it made him the only suspect in an unsolved assault -- with no alibi.

Terri did NOT "collapse" from bulimia. Her unexplained injuries calls for reopening a criminal investigation. How did a healthy young woman, almost surely sleeping, end up face down on a hallway floor, in cardiac arrest and near death, shortly after her husband came home late that Saturday night?

Not one of our visitors to Terri threads has ever tried to offer a genuine answer to this mystery. These aren't retardos. They obviously know perfectly well what the answer is.

Another detail. With "bulimia" ruled out, we learn that Michael's malpractice suits were fraudulent. The insurance companies got skunked out of $2 million. Lawyers, including the trial lawyer who invented the ridiculous bulimia theory, walked off with something like $800,000(?) dishonestly. They are officers of the court. Accordingly, they should report their participation in this fraud and make restitution.

The bugaboo "intervention" by Congress had exactly no effect on the case (and shame on Congress for letting that happen!). None. Zip. Nada. Ptui. All it did was let rogue judges sneer at the legislative branch.

Libertarians of my acquaintance are bright people. They can draw distinctions. They can, if they look, trace the "invervention" back to Michael going to a court -- people, courts are part of government! -- to ask the government to kill his wife. The pundits (including Michael Schiavo himself) who rage at intervention are blaming the wrong party. What the heck business is it of a judge to make a death decision for an innocent disabled woman, and to block her family's involvement in a private, personal matter?

BB found this:

Still, the family says they’ve had a difficult time, especially when it came to telling Aleena’s beloved cousins about her death.

“We talked about it and said how are we going to tell them,” said James Lacourse, Madla’s nephew, “we finally took them and said, ‘your cousin’s going to be an angel. She’s going to save about ten people because she donated her organs.”

So, it all comes back to left's premise that "the needs of many outweigh the needs of the few." Or, the even more ghoulish, "from each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs."

How does a little child make a legal decision to donate organs? My guess is that the culture of death's organ harvesting vultures pressured the family.

Yes. And then the left will turn around and defend the right of one (Michael Schiavo snuffing his helpless wife) against the claims of the many (murder laws protecting society). The left, in short, has no principles at all except destroying America by any means at hand.

(If one looks deeper, it's a religious war against Christianity and God that attacks the whole of Western Civilization. If they think civilization is bad, wait till they try living without it.)

There are more posts about Terri than any other issue. As long as what happened to her is denied, the truth is still demanded. Terri will be mentioned further in the next elections no doubt.

(and she didn't matter?) Au contrare. (sp?)

Just as the Nazis made it a crime to provide food and shelter to Jews.

Is it your belief that providing food and water is a crime? There's no need to "leave Terri alone". The government already took care of that by sponsoring her death.

Florida legislator Dave Simmons (R) "She will be a martyr." The government penned this saga and continues to cover it up with the help of the media and the euthanasia agenda.

Read all about it on www.drudgereport.com.

Florida cops have set up many speed and yellow arrow traps all over the state. Ticket charges went WAAAAAY UP up last year. The new F.S. amounts are nothing more than a new tax ($)on Floridians and unsuspecting visitors.

(pretending to be Santa's helper! Bah humbug!)

VISITORS TO FLORIDA DRIVE CAREFULLY. Florida wants to give you a fat ticket for the holidays!
