I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.

Never mind, Brad's Gramma ... I'll just go to my kneeling stool and thank Him that it is all in His Hands and offer up greatful *prayers* that things are not in mine ...

From Mr. Kayak - Kay and I have had a whilwind week that began Monday with a visit to our medical oncologist and was quickly followed by batteries of different and intensive tests, followed by visits to specialists in thorac surgery, radiation oncology, and pulmonology. The verdict is in and is difficult: Kay has stage 4 lung cancer that has metastizied into her pelvis/hip bone, her adrenal glands, and into her brain. This has been almost devastating and the only thing that has preserved our spirit is the many prayers being offered on her behalf and the faith we have been given in our Lord and Savior. This morning we learned that our physicians want to remove the brain tumor surgically and quickly and we admitted Kay to the hospital today for surgery in the morning. She is in room 9922 at Charlotte Medical Center and the hospital phone number is 704-355-6813. If anyone choses to call tonight, I'm sure she would be grateful. If not, then we know you are praying and we are counting on those prayers. We see this surgery as a positive thing in that it is our first counter-attack against this demon that has invaded the body of the love of my life. We will not be likely to post again for a few days because I don't think we have connectivity at the hospital. With a good outcome, Kay will be home sometime Christmas Day. Our thanks to all you freepers for your support!!!

Kay and you have my sincerest & most-urgent prayers for healing, strength and comfort and guidance to the team of doctors. The Prayer Warriors here at FR are the BEST and have comforted many of us who have faced difficult medical times.
