Is there 1 white man who has any courage?

December 16, 2006

By Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson

And I sought for a man among them, that should … stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

– Ezekiel 22:30

Why are white Americans afraid to speak truth to black Americans?

Let me start with a tale of two Michaels:

Michael Richards, the "Seinfeld" co-star who lashed out at a black heckler, repeatedly calling the man a "ni---r," has since made numerous apologies to black Americans.

He apologized on David Letterman's "Late Show" – but that forum wasn't "black enough" – so Richards was forced to grovel on Jesse Jackson's radio show.

The black man Richards insulted has retained Gloria Allred. Next month, he will express his contrition in front of a retired judge who will determine how much money Richards should dole out for hurling the "N" word.

Then there's the Nov. 25 shooting in New York City, where NYPD officers shot Sean Bell, a 23-year-old black man outside a strip club in Queens when he tried to ram an officer with his car. The incident has outraged Rev. Al Sharpton ("the Riot King") and other black leaders.

Sharpton is threatening to lead a massive pre-Christmas march along Manhattan's Fifth Avenue – stating, "We're going shopping for justice this Christmas."

Let's not forget that Sharpton gave us the Tawana Brawley hoax and provoked the Crown Heights riot in the Hasidic (Jewish) section of Brooklyn.

Why should anyone listen to this hypocrite?

After the police shooting, Michael (the other Michael) Bloomberg, the mayor of NYC, met with Sharpton and other black racist agitators and prematurely criticized the deadly shooting, calling it "inexplicable" and "unacceptable." Can you say "cave"?

What has happened to white men in this country?

White men used to be tough. John Wayne, Charlton Heston and Ronald Reagan exemplified a strong male image. But because of the successful attack – by secular progressives like NOW (National Organization of Women who Hate Men), the ACLU, homosexual groups and liberal black leaders – most white males have been emasculated.

Years of scapegoating and charges of racism have intimidated whites to the point that they no longer speak out on issues concerning race and morality.

After Dr. King's assassination in 1968, Jesse Jackson showed up in front of the news cameras holding a bloody sweater. This is all it took for him to be promoted by the elite media as the "heir apparent" to King.

This despite Jackson's repeated falling out with Dr. King's organization, the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference).

In 1971, Ralph Abernathy, King's successor at SCLC, suspended Jackson for "administrative improprieties and repeated acts of violation of organizational policy." Jackson then left the group and started Operation PUSH.

The mainstream media keep wicked black leaders like Jackson in power. Whenever there's a racial issue in this country Jackson or Sharpton are on the airwaves to "blame whitey."

The media and false black leaders succeeded in changing the allegiance of many black Americans – from a pro-family, pro-God people to a government-dependant people as we witnessed during Katrina.

White people are angry at Jackson and the phony civil-rights leaders who have made a living off of blaming them for the problems of blacks. And they're angry about the double standard when it comes to racial issues – and for not being allowed to openly express their disagreements with blacks.

But they remain silent.

This has resulted in the phenomenon of white fear – fear of criticizing blacks – no matter how corrupt, immoral or evil the perpetrator.

Since whites are not allowed to express themselves, they either cower down like Michael Bloomberg, or they lash out in anger like Michael Richards. Then Jesse Jackson swoops in and points to the overreaction as evidence of white racism – to exploit the situation for profit.

White Americans need to stand up for truth with strength and patience. If we can find white people with courage, we can change this country – and the tale of two Michaels would have a happy ending.

What is courage? Well, I can tell you what courage is not: 1) Courage is not resenting blacks and complaining to your white friends behind closed doors. 2) It's not tolerating black misconduct, and 3) Courage is not adopting the divisive, politically correct term "African American."

As for black Americans, they need to repudiate their "leaders" and let go of past grievances, lest they self-destruct.

It will take decent whites and blacks to come together to live out the promise of Dr. King's dream. Then, America will finally become the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Yep, my son was told by some hispanic kids that "only white people can be racist".

Needless to say, that idea was logically torn to shreds a few minutes after it was expressed.

I only wanted to point this out because I have heard there is tension between Blacks and Jews, more so than between Blacks and other White people.

I myself was recently fired for speaking up. Albeit in a moment of anger. I emailed a California government official that emailed me that EDD was looking for bilingual workers, that "isn't this America and wasn't our official language English?". Anyway, I'm unemployed now...all my co-workers agreed with me, but no one said anything...Looking for a job in southern California.....LOL!

I love this guy. He's been on Jesse's hit list for quite a while.

Funny that you rarely here from him in the MSM, isn't it.

Right, sure, we are going to risk our jobs to speak out about the nonsense of the rap/gang-culture.

Thank you. Most whites see no need or anything to gain by publically criticizing the blacks Jesse is talking about.

Whites don't feel like they need to change the behavior of black people to live happy and fullfilled lives.

They simply don't care.

Unlike the Jacksons, the Sharptons etc(and blacks who think like them) who whine and cry constantly about how bad the white man treats them.

Black families live in homes on both sides of mine. We don't interact much but not for the reasons Jesse Jackson espouses.

They, like me work their asses off to support their families and are bone tired when they get home.

We leave for work in darkness and arrive home in darkness.

I don't notice that they are black except because of my optic senses. Much like their shirt is red. I see that it is red and don't care, much like their skin is darker and I don't care.

They are good neighbors too. I hope they feel the same about my family and me.

Black Americans are no different than white Americans as this country gives you the opportunity to succeed or fail.

It is our choice.

LOL! I know what you mean! But you gotta stop it now... we gotta stop it now...I live in California and I see what's happening to the white culture. To the Christian culture and value system that this country was founded on!

Because you are black I cant help but read your reply twice. Thank you sir for sharing your thoughts here. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Some Black folks know the real values of conservatism better than White folks. It's not about being Republican. It's about holding fast to ideals of self realization, self reliance, and self restraint. When Condi Rice said in an interview that she "doesnt need Harry Belefonte to tell her what being black is all about because she lives it everyday" I was astounded. The power of that statement left me numb.

But they remain silent.

Not me.

Growing up most of my friends were black, and I didn't have any reservations about criticizing Jackson, Sharpton etc for the racist hypocrites I thought they were.

My black freinds knew exactly where I stood.

Back when you could still get an education in public school in this country, I learned in High School civics class how the Chicoms kept the population controlled mainly through "criticism". This has now taken hold in our country under the "politically correct" banner which was originally a tongue in cheek joke at kpfa, Berkeley, home of the "free speech" movement.

I have, on occasion, observed discrimination against blacks.

I discriminate against thugs, criminals, liars and people who do not respect others, regardless of what color they are.

Now, if that person is white, no one cares. But if that person is black, I am considered a racist, simply because I am white.

White people are not allowed to judge any one else based on their behavior, or we will get sued, beat up, or worse.

The problem of Jesse Jackson, government dependence and the gangster mentality is not one the white community can combat.

It is up to the black community to reclaim their values.

I was fired from a job in 1961 because I told a Black girl, who I had previously worked with at an insurance company, that the firm I was working for was hiring. She came in to apply for the job and when they found out it was me who told her about it they promptly got rid of me. This was long before EEOC and there was no reason for them to be afraid. I guess they didn't want to work with someone who didn't think that working with Black people was a bad thing.

Yes, but it's the trouble makers we have to speak up to. And Jesse has been telling his people to speak up too. We're gonna have to get smart and tough now...

It's less a matter about "whiteness" and more about Western civilization. It's about embracing a civilization founded on classical Greek philosophy and judeo-christian values.

Why are white Americans afraid to speak truth to black Americans?

Because, between the race baiters and MSM, it's a losing proposition. Who has the time or the money to fight back against either or both of those two who will sully the name of anyone who "speaks the truth to black Americans"?

Besides, most black Americans with whom I am acquainted pay little attention to either and are quick to state that neither represents them.

I am both.

I simply have no voice in the real world. Sharpton and Jackson are racist pieces of garbage. There I said it, but who heard?

Our politically correct society is really the result of cowardace in my opinion.

There's some of that. But it results from PC indoctrination, legislation and intimidation, to use the rhyming style of Jesse Jackson.

A generation of kids has been given PC indoctrination in schools (consider the "speech codes" in colleges, etc.) and we've all been subjected to media and peer-group PC-indoctrination. I'm an old guy and I'd never heard the words "hate crime" before the 1980s, but now, thanks to gutless-brainless legislators, non-PC speech (and thought, presumably!) can have serious real-world consequences. That's especially true given outfits like the Southern Poverty Law Center, "civil rights" lawyers and many angry partisan and vindictive judges in the country's courts. Fear of devastating punitive legal consequences is what keeps all us sheeple penned-up inside the PC electric fence.

Free speech? A feel-good fairy tale we keep repeating, but it's a fantasy. Real free speech (for everyone, that is, not just the Left) hasn't existed since before the 1960s. I agree with the Reverend that it's going to take a lot of courage to reverse this oppression. But who'll be the first wave out of the trench?
