I recall fondly the many times that I have participated in the Passover seder at the invitation of Jewish friends and have each time been awed at the profound meaning attached to every element of the seder which is designed to illustrate the fascinating historical narrative of the Jewish people over the millennia that is the foundation of both the Christian and Islamic faiths.

When I was growing up, the Episcopal Church we attended used to invite one of the few Jewish families in town to come and have a seder right in the church.

We lived in a small town in a rural area of southern culture and it never occurred to me this was anything unusual or special until many years later. The family in question had 3 daughters about my age and other than that one night they were just regular kids like us (except the one in my class was a pretty good track & field athlete if memory serves). But that one night they were like a wondrous doorway to 3200 years of history.

Now I am truly miffed, and put out.
I don't get to try any of the great restaurants they have in that backwater dune, or visit any of the hundreds of terrific Shops or swinging Jazz clubs, where I might have met an outstanding, intelligent and VERY sexy lady, with whom I could have danced the night away. For years I have so wanted to join the Haj, wear cool Schmatehs in the HOT SUN and walk in a circle; barefoot or in sandals and get to feel the goat shit between my toes, while smelling the thousands of wild eyed "edge of rage" fanatics, waiting for the traditional yearly rock throwing event or stampede wherein an as yet undetermined number of nutjobs get killed or maimed.

I'm still waiting for someone to take me up on my standing offer of $10.00 to anyone who can name for me one, just one, significant invention or scientific advance that meets the following criteria:
1. It must be within the last 100 years.
2. It must have been created by a muslim working in a muslim country.

I have had this offer open for several years. Even my Iranian, ex pat, muslim, coworkers haven't come up with anything.

What I don't understand is why these idiots risk their lives visiting this "Black Cube" built over a meteorite?

Of course I prefer them dying, trampling themselves to death, in the sands of Saudi Arabia, instead of flying planes into buildings.

Now that I think of it ... every infidel should should be encouraging all mohammmedans to get to mecca this year. We should be contributing big, big $$$ to get them there.
