From the desk of Gen. Chuck Yeager:
November 20, 2006
To my Fellow Americans,
Congressman Duncan Hunter is the best candidate for President of the United States of America that I know - he has integrity, tenacity, courage, and diplomacy. He is intelligent and thoughtful, does his research, and acts on it.
I have known Congressman Duncan Hunter for over 35 years. Duncan served his country in the Army and is a Vietnam vet. In Vietnam, he served in one of the most dangerous outfits - the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 75th Army Rangers....
Chuck Yeager
(I believe the date stated in the text should read December 20, not November 20. It was posted on the site December 21).

Chuck Yeager is quite a guy. So is Duncan Hunter, I think. Anxious to know more about him.
I plan to support Hunter.
I'd like to see John Kerry be the first candidate to break the sound barrier without using an airplane.
How is that?
Yeager is an American hero.
I thought Jaeger was dead.
The only man ever to shoot down a missile carrying jetfighter with a machine gun equipped prop powered piston engined old WWII fighterplane. The fighter jet probably was capable of going faster than his bullets!
Hunter is the only candidate who has declared thus far who I will vote for.
You mention his stance on illegals. Exactly what do you feel is wrong with his stance on illegals?
No kidding. This is one of the toughest guys ever.
Maybe Jaeger is dead, but Yeager is still alive...:)
I contacted Congressman Hunter's office last week to get an interview with him. I am very impressed by him and I think that he would make an excellent candidate.
With this in mind I felt an interview might do him some good - when one considers it would be published:
* in a Philadelphia newspaper - the fifth largest city in the country
* located in the Northeastern US
* that is in Pennsylvania a state with the fifth most electoral votes
* near a swing county, Montgomery, located in suburban Philadelphia which is 3:2 Republican
Well I was told to call one person, who told me to call another person, who told me to call a third person, who told me to call him back in a couple of weeks.
I then got an email from the Congressman , in response to an email I sent him via his website, who said he would be glad to do an interview.
All of which leads me to believe that his campaign committee is very disorganized. He could be Abe Lincoln, George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, and Reagan all rolled up into one; if his campaign is this disorganized he is not going anywhere - especially since he does not have a profile in the party.
So if someone knows Hunter tell him this and tell him he needs to get that corrected.

I can't wait for the day when we can have a Presidential election that isn't about Vietnam. This guy looks like a winner, but enough with the fossils.
More info please. This never happened to Chuck Yeager that I know of.
