Italian who met spy Litvinenko arrested  :: latest

Police today arrested an Italian security expert who met former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko the day he fell ill from poisoning.

Mario Scaramella was arrested in Naples, where he landed on his way back from London, Italian news agencies reported.

Rome prosecutors have been investigating Scaramella for violating secrets of his office and possible arms trafficking.

Scaramella met Litvinenko at a London sushi bar on November 1, the day the former spy fell ill.

On his deathbed on November 23, Litvinenko - a former KGB agent and harsh Kremlin critic - blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for involvement in his poisoning - an allegation that the Kremlin denied.

Waiting to read whether he poisoned Litvinenko deliberately or inadvertently while transferring the Pollonium.

Any clues?

Litvinenko, on his death bed, wanted his funeral service and burial be of his newly found MUSLIM faith.

Sounds like the right guy was killed.....

Your headline doesn't seem to be in accord with the content of the story.

Has he been charged with the poisoning?

No, arms trafficking, according to Italian news. He is being investigated for arms trafficking, disclosing secrets of his office (in the meaning of a public office), and for giving false testimony to a government commission. It must be remembered that in Italy, the judiciary is largely controlled by the far left.

I was politely suggesting to the poster that his headline was incorrect.

Scaramella? Isn't that the Italian name for Gigolo John's yacht?

Of course they did: they don't want competition.

The way it works in Italy...a local DA can go as far as he wants and issue warrants for just about anyone (remember...our CIA guys are under that current threat). Oh, and that Army private that shot the rescuer of the dimwit Italian female reporter...he is also under warrant. If they wanted to go after Rumsfeld...they probably would. Just remember this...justice in Italy only goes so far...then the mafia steps in and ensures stability.

Litvinenko is an evil person who is falsely advertisized as an ex-KGB spy. He was actually a law-enforcement officer in charge to counter ethnic gangs in Moscow. He was a corrupted officer, allied with Boris Berezovski - a known Soros’s proxy and a part of liberal anti-Putin opposition. Litvinenko used his position to push muslim gangs he was intended to counter against Berezovski’s business adversaries. Both had ties to muslim terrorists in Chechnya.
As soon as a couple departed for London, Litvinenko turned into a costly exhausted asset for Berezovski.
An idea of a hit by Kremlin on him sound unrealistic.
To me it has three realistic versions: suicide, accident while handling hazmat, a hit by Berezovski-Soros (to get rid of useless idiot and use it in information war on Russians).
