Muslims played a critical role in some key elections this year. But elected officials won't take them seriously if they don't continue to organize and turn out Muslim voters, two politically active Muslims said Saturday at a convention in Dearborn.
If there are efforts to register Muslims to vote, educate them about the candidates and get them to the polls to vote for one candidate, politicians will court their support, Jameel Johnson, an aide to U.S. Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., said at the Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America convention.
"It is our job to make the Muslim vote visible to candidates," he said.
A strategy of organizing Muslim voters worked in Virginia this year in the U.S. Senate race.
The effort was so organized that Muslim taxi drivers in northern Virginia took the day off to ferry Muslims to the polls, said Imam Mahdy Bray, a speaker at the convention. Volunteers also made phone calls to Muslims in Virginia to urge them to vote, he said.
As a result, Democrat James Webb ousted incumbent Republican George Allen by about 9,000 votes in a race in which 50,000 Muslims went to the polls -- 47,000 of them voting for Webb, Bray said.
"You can make a difference when you work," Bray said.
Mohammed Shoman, 18, of Dearborn said the conference inspired him to get involved. "We realize how much our influence is" now, he said.
There is an interesting ad possibility here. Lets say that you could round up 300,000 Muslims in the US as registered voters and you do a poll...which the ad campaign would show in the background. Then the results? 99 percent would vote Democrat. If you wanted an absolutely destructive ad to run throughout the south...this would be it. You can tear out almost every single southern democratic senator and representative with something like this. Toss in the mountain states...and it'd be a major shift in US politics....based on a stupid poll with barely half of one percent of the US voters.
This will explain some of that.

George W. Bush was elected President of the United States of America because of the Muslim vote.
The what?
That's right, the Muslim vote. There are roughly six million Muslim-Americans. Hard data on their voting habits is surprisingly hard to come by, because national polling groups do not yet include "Muslim" as a full-fledged religious category (Protestant, Catholic, Jew, and "other'). But according to surveys by national Muslim groups, Bush won more than 70 percent of Muslims who voted. In Florida, that totaled 55,000 people, who, according to an exit poll by the Tampa Bay Islamic Center, favored Bush over Gore by 20 to 1. According to this exit poll, Bush got 88 percent of the vote to Gore's four percent, with eight percent voting for Nadar. The margin of victory for Bush over Gore in the Muslim vote was 46,200, many times greater than his statewide margin of victory. The Muslim vote won Florida for Bush.
U.S. Muslims come from Pakistan, India, Iran, Africa, and the Middle East, plus American converts. Just one out of six is of Arab descent; of the 3 million Arab- Americans, two-thirds are Christian. The Muslim community is thus not an ethnic bloc, but a faith-based, naturally conservative community. Sixty-one percent of Muslims, for example, would ban abortion except to save the life of the mother; 84 percent support school choice. Muslims are Republican by economics as well, with a median annual family income of more than $69,000. Muslim immigrants don't walk across the border penniless--they fly into airports, largely to attend American universities. Fully a quarter are self-employed small businessmen--more than twice the national average. Abolishing the death tax is a major issue.
Socially and economically conservative in their attitudes, American Muslims look like members of the Christian Coalition or religiously active Catholics, who continue shifting to the Republican Party--55 percent of mass-attending Catholics went for Bush in 2000. But the Muslim vote is more in play. Muslims voted two to one for George H. W. Bush in 1992, then in 1996 went two to one for Clinton. George W. Bush got them back only through a vigorous outreach campaign. Muslims around the globe noticed, for example, that he always speaks of believers who attend "church, synagogue, or mosque." He is the first president to utter the word "mosque" in an inaugural address. In Philadelphia last year, Talat Othman, chairman of the Islamic Institute, gave the first Muslim prayer at a Republican convention. The Democrats scrambled to invite a Muslim to speak to their convention two weeks later.
Much of the credit for the strong GOP performance goes to Khaled Saffuri, the founding president of the conservative, pro-free enterprise Islamic Institute. (I was on the founding board of directors.) Saffuri organized a series of meetings between Muslim and Republican leaders, including a visit by Bush himself to an Islamic Center in Michigan. Saffuri also gained Republican support for the national campaign to have a postage stamp honoring Eid, the Muslim feast. Bush, Speaker Denny Hastert, Chairman Jim Nicholson, and National Republican Campaign Committee Chairman Tom Davis wrote letters in support of the Eid stamp. Since authorized, it will appear this September.
Saffuri also brought to the GOP's attention the most important issue for the Muslim community--the misuse of "secret evidence" in immigration cases, allowed under a 1996 law. One Muslim man was held in prison for three years based on secret evidence that turned out to be a claim by his former wife (with whom he was in a custody battle) that he planned to kill Janet Reno. The wife had pulled a similar stunt on a previous husband.
When George W. Bush condemned the use of secret evidence in his second nationally televised debate with Al Gore, national Muslim groups decided to endorse Bush. Eight national Muslim groups did so on October 23rd. Eighty-five percent of Muslim voters, in a poll commissioned by Muslim leaders, reported that they were aware of the leadership's endorsement.
As for claims that Muslims voted for Bush because Joe Lieberman is an observant Jew, Muslim leaders themselves cite Lieberman as one of the most Muslim-friendly Senators, praising his strong faith and co-sponsorship of a resolution condemning anti-Muslim bigotry.
The American Muslim community is large and growing, thanks to both high immigration and relatively large families. The number of mosques in this country has increased 25 percent since 1994. The aggression of the secular left has created a more ecumenical right over the past 20 years, with evangelical Protestants, Roman Catholics, and Orthodox Jews working together on pro-life, school choice, and other issues. They have new allies for the asking.
What bothers me is that there are so many fools such as yourself, who somehow trust that islam is 'peaceful', even though their entire history proves otherwise.
Islam was spread by the sword, mohammed was a theif, a murderer and a pedophile. He conquered lands through bloodshed and violence, not through preaching and example. Where islam presently concentrates itself, the middle east, north Africa, balkans, etc, these were once Christian lands with Christian peoples, who were conquered in a most bloody, barbaric fashion by your 'moderate' friends. The tiny minority of Christians who still survive in those lands live oppressed under the iron rule of sharia law, and/or under the constant threat of violence or death.
If history could show that any of your beliefs were true, I would perhaps listen and investigate more. But investigate I have already done, and have done so in depth. No matter what the historical source, islam is revealed as a bloody cult, whose doctrines keep its adherents in a perpetual state of fear, frenzy, and disdain for "infidels".
You are free to trust your life, your country and your family to the 'peaceful' beliefs of the mohammedans as they infiltrate and proliferate amongst us, that is your right, I suppose. But, thank God, it is my right to know the truth, the facts, the reality about islam; and islam is a demonic, murderous, lying, dangerous cult. Its doctrines are death to the body and to the soul. Believing that islam, steeped in the madness and frenzy of its koranic foundation, can be interpreted 'moderately' and exercised in peace, is to believe that Satan can be a nice guy, if you but treat him with respect and try to 'understand' him.
So my advice to you is to go live in an islamic country somewhere, if you don't already, and tell yourself, as you live and suffer under the iron rule of the mullahs, that "islam can be moderate and peaceful". Repeat these words over and over again, until you've gone completely insane, then you'll be right where Satan and his puppet mohammed wanted his dupes to be...... hellbound in a handbasket.
They should treat it differently. They should shoot to kill.

In the United States, after 3000 people were lost on 9/11, more people became tolerant toward Islam. Islam, however, takes over countries peacefully. First, many Muslims get into the country. Then they open up schools, Mosques, and camps. They, then influence the education system. They claim Islam is a religion of peace and that it tolerates other religions. Then, they start terrorist attacks, and blame it on the “extremists.” “It’s not Islam, it is the extremists who interpret Islam in the wrong way. They represent one percent, though,” say the Muslims. They get more people on their cause. In America, the amount of Liberals is growing. Islam is winning by getting other people’s support, just as it happened in France, Germany, Canada, Holland, and Belgium, and just as it’s happening in most of the other countries of the world.
Some countries not yet taken over by Islam were against the War in Iraq. Russia, China, and North Korea were among those countries against the war in Iraq. Russia, a former Communist country gave weapons to the Arabs. The Arabs, to this day are allies with Russia. The same type of “allies” America had in Afghanistan in the 1980s; who later became known as the Taliban. China and North Korea also gave weapons to the Muslims. However, when Islam is done with the rest of the world, it will attack China and North Korea, just as the Taliban later attacked the United States. Russia, has already been attacked, but it still needs money and all the Muslims need nuclear weapons. Russia is building nuclear reactors for Iran and it was going to help Iraq, but luckily, the US invaded Iraq.
The following is the plan that Islam goes by in order to take over a country:
1. Terminate America's freedom of speech by replacing it with statewide and nationwide hate-crime bills.
2. Wage a war of words using black leaders like Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jesse Jackson and other visible religious personalities who promote Islam as the religion of African-Americans while insisting Christianity is for whites only. What they fail to tell African-Americans is that it was Arab Muslims who captured them and sold them as slaves. In fact, the Arabic word for black and slave is the same, ''Abed.''
3. Engage the American public in dialogues, discussions, debates in colleges, universities, public libraries, radio, TV, churches and mosques on the virtues of Islam. Proclaim how it is historically another religion like Judaism and Christianity with the same monotheistic faith.
4. Nominate Muslim sympathizers to political office to bring about favorable legislation toward Islam and support potential sympathizers by block voting.
5. Take control of as much of Hollywood, the press, TV, radio and the Internet as possible by buying the related corporations or a controlling stock.
6. Yield to the fear of the imminent shut-off of the lifeblood of America – black gold. America’s economy depends on oil and 41 percent of it comes from the Middle East.
7. Yell ''foul, out-of-context, personal interpretation, hate crime, Zionist, un- American, inaccurate interpretation of the Quran'' anytime Islam is criticized or the Quran is analyzed in the public arena.
8. Encourage Muslims to penetrate the White House, specifically with Islamists who can articulate a marvelous and peaceful picture of Islam. Acquire government positions and get membership in local school boards. Train Muslims as medical doctors to dominate the medical field, research and pharmaceutical companies. (Ever notice how numerous Muslim doctors in America are, when their countries need them more desperately than America?) Take over the computer industry. Establish Middle Eastern restaurants throughout the U.S. to connect planners of Islamization in a discreet way.
9. Accelerate Islamic demographic growth via:
Massive immigration (100,000 annually since 1961).
Use no birth control whatsoever – every baby of Muslim parents is automatically a Muslim and cannot choose another religion later.
Muslim men must marry American women and Islamize them (10,000 annually). Then divorce them and remarry every five years – since one can't legally marry four at one time. This is a legal solution in America.
Convert angry, alienated black inmates and turn them into militants (so far 2,000 released inmates have joined al-Qaida worldwide). Only a few ''sleeper cells'' have been captured in Afghanistan and on American soil.
10. Reading, writing, arithmetic and research through the American educational system, mosques and student centers (now 1,500) should be sprinkled with dislike of Jews, evangelical Christians and democracy. There are currently 300 exclusively Muslim schools in the U.S. which teach loyalty to the Quran, not the U.S. Constitution. In January of 2002, Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Washington mailed 4,500 packets of the Quran and videos promoting Islam to America's high schools – free of charge. Saudi Arabia would not allow the U.S. to reciprocate.
11. Provide very sizeable monetary Muslim grants to colleges and universities in America to establish ''Centers for Islamic studies'' with Muslim directors to promote Islam in higher-education institutions.
12. Let the entire world know through propaganda, speeches, seminars, local and national media that terrorists have hijacked Islam, when in truth, Islam hijacked the terrorists.
13. Appeal to the historically compassionate and sensitive Americans for sympathy and tolerance towards Muslims in America who are portrayed as mainly immigrants from oppressed countries.
14. Nullify America's sense of security by manipulating the intelligence community with misinformation. Periodically terrorize Americans with reports of impending attacks on bridges, tunnels, water supplies, airports, apartment buildings and malls.
15. Form riots and demonstrations in the prison system demanding Islamic Sharia as the way of life, not America's justice system.
16. Open numerous charities throughout the U.S., but use the funds to support Islamic terrorism with American dollars.
17. Raise interest in Islam on America's campuses by insisting freshman take at least one course on Islam.
18. Unify the numerous Muslim lobbies in Washington, mosques, Islamic student centers, educational organizations, magazines and papers by Internet and an annual convention to coordinate plans, propagate the faith and engender news in the media.
19. Send intimidating messages and messengers to the outspoken individuals who are critical of Islam and seek to eliminate them by hook or crook.
20. Applaud Muslims as loyal citizens of the U.S. by spotlighting their voting record as the highest percentage of all minority and ethic groups in America.
