The President needn't have done anything on this.

The very same people who would have whined about that are the ones complaining here.

Sickening.

I congratulate the AP for printing this. Government ineptness and horrendous waste is usually ignored by big media. Guess they consider it a dog bites man story.

Ungrateful ingrates. That's not Bushes money, it's the taxpayers. And this is one taxpayer that says if you ungrateful whiners don't appeciate 15 billion dollars of MY money, screw you. The president has no right to give my money away where the puplic don't want it given, and I certainly don't want it given considering this attitude.

Besides, the cure is free. Keep it in your pants/ keep your legs crossed, (or keep your butt covered if you are sicko) Live a moral self respecting lifestyle and aids will vanish.

Big Government throwing
big money at
big problems with
big entropy.

Katrina, AIDS, education & etc. When Democrats do it, it's compassion. When Republicans do it, the whistles blow. And right they should...

But the hand-wringing will only continue into the first week of Hillary's term.

President Bush's ambitious AIDS-fighting program in poor countries has pushed so hard for fast results that basic record keeping and accountability often went by the wayside, making it hard to judge the true success, according to government audits and officials.

Then the program should be halted immediately until the bean-counters catch up.

Well since the program is so screwed up I guess we should just stop it - like say Tomorrow, save the $15 Billion and let the Africans die.

Hows that sound Democrats?

(Actually, I DO think the $15 Billion for Africa was waste of OUR money. It's not our job to cure AIDS world-wide. Let the Euro-weenies do it.)

The $15 billion to "Africa" was one of the low points of the Bush administration. A huge deficit and he throws $15 billion in the toilet? Disgusting.

Well, well, well...damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Bush could have spent $1 trillion fighting AIDS and the lefties still wouldn't give him props.

Here's a hint to Republicans: STOP PANDERING!

How the biased media lies.
You have to read down to the sixth paragraph before you know that the "recipients failed to keep records"
The headline and first paragraph have prepared the reader to find out that Bush is at fault.
The headline says "Poor records plague Bush Aids effort".
The first paragraph says "basic record keeping and accountability often went by the wayside".
Both were written deliberately in such a way as to make the reader think that Bush is at fault.
You can't trust anything that the media prints.

Amazing!!! Not only the "Bush bash" in the headline... and a slam at government mismanagement... but, it dances away from the fact that it was mismanagement by a 3rd world African government... Who woulda thunk it?

Foreign aid to Africa is being captured by corruption? I'm shocked.

Can anyone give me a logical argument on why the U.S. should be more responsible for funding AIDS research and treatment in the turd world than in, say, funding Cystic Firbrosis or MS research and treatment in this country?

Can't the AIDS lobby have a telethon or something?

Anytime taxpayer $$ are involved in anything, record keeping and accountability fall by the wayside.

You know I've been attempting to educate you sheeple for almost 10 years now. HIV does NOT cause AIDs, and AIDs is NOT a sexually-transmitted disease. I won't belabor the point but the test is a total crock. It's an antibody test, not a test for active antigen. I'll let you figure that out.

If you've had years of bacterial, viral and fungal infections, if you've used "poppers" for years, if you've used meth, heroin, coke, and assorted other narcotics, if you've taken absurd amounts of antibacterials, antivirals, and antifungals, then my friend, you have damaged your immune system beyond repair, and I suggest you prepare for the worst.

If not, you and Magic will be shooting hoops for years to come!
