Mr. Burglar - meet the Second Amendment, properly applied. In New York, the police would have probably arrested the homeowner for illegal possession of a weapon.

Thats right because if more citizens rounded up perps on site we wouldn't need so many cops.
Its a union thing.

Noren's crime fighting has Anchorage police applauding his self-reliance but warning others not to follow in his footsteps. Why the hell not?
Perhaps they mean he should have just shot the scumbag when he crossed the doorway.

Whatever happened to the notion that lookouts were as guilty of the crime as the perpetrator himself?

He was right not to trust the "Police". The police can not take action until you are dead, or injured. (I'll never understand that PC nonsense).
The person who decides to break into my home will get some of the same action.

Its always amazing how these burglars who rob people's homes always have a prior record for doing the same thing.
It seems they are arrested: pay for a smart lawyer with funds from prior thefts and are back out before police get the paperwork done. Judges give them light sentences as lawyers who are friends with the judges make deals. Then they go out and rob people's homes again..
Few small communities dont know who the thieves in their communities are, who the drug dealers are, but slick lawyers and co-operative judges combine to keep these people on the street until they end up harming someone.
Then its too late.
Sometimes these people meet with bad fortune when caught by a homeowner who is tired of the rip-offs and takes the law into his own hands. Hopefully the homeowner isnt the one who ends up prosecuted.
One thing is a fact if you expect the law to protect you from burglars ,you are betting on the wrong horse..
99 times out of a hundred should you call the law it wil take them upwards of half an hour to get there. Most times the act is done before you notice it. The only protection a homeowner has is the homeowner themselves and their arms. Police simply are too few to patrol everywhere .

A better ending would have been with the perp's brains splattered on the front porch, but I guess cleanup is a biatch. God bless the armed individual.

Police arrested Tracy Randall, a 32-year-old on probation with a long rap sheet, on burglary charges.
Shocking.
Thackney, do you know the homeowner? Man, I LOVE Alaska!

In New York, the police would have probably arrested the homeowner for illegal possession of a weapon. And in Texas, the criminal probably wouldn't have been given the opportunity to continue to build his rap sheet.
