McCain Campaign Denies Producing 1994 Romney Video (Romney Camp Accuses McCain Campaign!)

A source close to Sen.
John McCains presidential exploratory committee tells HUMAN EVENTS that McCains team had nothing to do with the
video that appeared yesterday on YouTube showing GOP rival
Mitt Romney at a 1994 debate with Sen.
Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.).
The video sent Romneys newly formed campaign team into overdrive, prompting the former Massachusetts governor to distance himself from the socially liberal views he espoused in 1994. Romneys campaign produced its own YouTube video -- taped during an appearance yesterday on Instapundits The Glenn and Helen Show.
The Romney campaign, meanwhile, pointed fingers at McCains team for producing the 1994 video, according to Matt Naugle, who posted the debate footage on HUMAN EVENTS Right Angle blog.
However, HUMAN EVENTS has learned that McCain staffers were individually asked if they had any knowledge of the video. They denied having anything to do with it, and apparently first learned of the Romney video when it was posted on Wonkette yesterday morning.
Romney and McCain have feuded over social issues in the past. Last November, for example, Romney accused McCain of being disingenuous on gay marriage. Expect the debate to grow louder and get nastier.

The Guiliani Campaign accused the McCain campaign of photocopying his campaign agenda. Makes you wonder!

If there is one thing McCain is good at it's sticking fellow republicans in the eye.

The McCain campaign is lying in both cases. They have hired people outside the campaign to do their dirty tricks, thinking it will give them plausible deniability. McCain's only hope to win is by destroying his opposition, for no one will choose him on his own merits.

McCain actively campaigned against TRUE conservatives in 2004. That is much more recent and IMO, more damaging.

The liberal views Romney espoused should be made known and he should be questioned about them.

YouTube is going to be a battleground in the 2008 campaign. How soon before McCain/Clinton try to shut down the posting of political messages to YouTube?

Do you think that McCain was also behind that rediculous story last month that tried to paint Romney as anti illegal immigration? (Romney employs a landscape contractor who had evidently hired illegal immigrants who were interviewed by the Boston Globe.) Seems like the same MO to me, either McCain or DNC. BTW, DNC came out today against Romney's strong stand on Iraq.

Good, let them all hack each other apart for a few more months, then it will be easier to draft Fred Thompson.

Could be - but I think the Mass. Republicans were behind that one. They seemed to be against Romney for not backing them in the 2006 election.

Yikes! Could McCain also have been behind the George Allen macaca incident? Makes you wonder, no?

My thoughts as well. Let these liberals spend their money duking it out. I just hope a true conservative candidate emerges.

Ummm, could he have gotten a copy of the Clinton handbook?
Maybe it is his 'vice president' Lindsey Graham.

McCain is very scared of Romney. His camp had a woman grill Romney in SC a few weeks about being a Mormon. McCain is convinced he lost in 2000 because of Bush being touch (mean) in SC and he is determined not to let it happen again.
