This calls for Vlad's type of cruel and unusual punishment:

Perp has had Shawn Hornbeck with him all this time. Neighbors say they had no idea that the boy was Shawn Hornbeck and that they watched him grow up in their neighborhood for the last 4 years.
Ben Ownby, Shawn Hornbeck Both Found Alive!

KSDK - Days after an Amber Alert was issued for 13-year-old William "Ben" Ownby, he has been found alive-and years after one was issued for Shawn Hornbeck, he, too, has been found alive.
They were found in an apartment in Kirkwood.
At a news conference, police said they had charged 41-year-old Michael J Devlin of Kirkwood with one count of kidnapping.
The search began Monday afternoon, when Ben disappeared shortly after getting off a school bus near Beaufort, Missouri, in Franklin County. Another teen who was with him saw a white truck with a camper shell speeding away from the area. Police had been searching for the truck, and were following up on more than 500 leads.

Round up the perps and let's bring back stocks and pillary's in the public square. To heck with the stocks. Unless horsewhips are also involved, just get a rope.

PERP (Michael J Devlin) is from Utah originally.

Yes!!! :-) That's simply amazing. There's so precious few happy endings to abductions that are that long ago. It's flabbergasting really.
Prayers up for these kids especially the one that was held for so long. Hopefully there's a way found to survive whatever he had to endure.

Perp has links to Utah and Texas.
He has a fairly long rap sheet with short prison sentences.
Perp was a store manager at a Imo's Pizza in Kirkwood MO

As much as many of us would like to see a death penalty warranted here, it's not that kind of case -- even though it oughtta be In some states, it is.
Five states: Florida, Louisiana, Montana, Oklahoma and South Carolina as of 2006-JUN. Source

OMG, I knew the boy died young, but look at this stuff:
In 2004, Kenneth Parnell, now in his 70s, was convicted of trying to persuade a woman to procure him a young boy for $500.
Steven Stayner's brother Cary was arrested in 1999 and charged with the murder of Carole Sund, her 15-year-old daughter Juli, 16-year-old Silvina Pelosso, and park employee Joie Armstrong, in the Yosemite National Park. He was convicted and awaits execution.

No trial necessary. Hand him over to the boys' fathers. Exactly!

That's useful information. Thanks.
I thought Texas would be on that list, but I suppose Texans are satisfied with giving out those comically long sentences for such a crime: 742 3/4 years in prison at hard labor, less 15 months served.
