I thought so, must make for very interesting dinner conversation during the holidays.
Everytime I have an experience like this I see this whole thing as a catch-22.
Ultimately, the way I see it there is only one solution and that is when wages in India, Pakistan, Poland, etc., are on par with American wages then perhaps demand for products will be equal and jobs available for educated people in all these countries..... provided sociaists don't screw it up for all of us.
Now, China, that is another matter.
Do you think them dying will change things? What about all their clones coming out of our universities these days?
I did the same, and now my 5, their spouses, and the 12 little dividends...grandchildren...are voting and/or waiting to vote Conservative Republican!
Unfortunately, too many people are easily brainwashed and uninformed leading them to vote the "wrong" way.
I agree. I am aware of three basic types who are easily swayed:
1) Those who feel guilty about their success and on some level find voting Democratic is an antiseptic way of helping the little guy;
2) Those who engage what Thomas Sowell refers to as '1st stage thinking' in terms of public policy. Eg: Welfare payments assist the poor. They don't see the 2nd stage- the effect that governmental hand-outs has on behavior,- as linked to the 1st.
3) Those who cannot stand the idea of seeming Republican. There's gotta be a term for this type of (il)logical argument. Anyone?
There is no other explanation (I can come up with) for generations of welfare families. The Government is either unwilling or unable to do anything to bring those people into a better way of life for themselves and their children. I believe the dems are unwilling and without their cooperation, the GOP is unable.
Surely, no one "wants" to live in rat or roach infested housing, but the Rangel's, Pelosi's and Clinton's of this world have convinced them it is the fault of the haves. They tell them "we" are keeping them from getting a decent education and accomplishing, what everyone in this country who really wants to work hard, can accomplish.
Welfare should be changed to workfare and when people get tired of working menial jobs to receive that check, maybe then they will look to improve their lots in life. Unless a person is physically handicapped there is no excuse for sitting home and collecting a check.
Bayh had some other votes that were not okay. Like ANWR. I didn't think he was okay in the first term, he waffled around and people didn't pay attention. Said one thing and did the opposite. Sounded reasonable on TV but his votes weren't reasonable.
It usually takes a generation before certain immigrants become Republicans. They have to start earning a Paycheck and paying lots of taxes, working hard and seeing bums get welfare on their tax dollar. Then when they own a home or own a Business, and the crooks Rob them, Burglarize their home, Steal from their Business, they get the point. They will see the difference in the Party Platforms pretty soon, but will be too busy working to do anything about it.
If her kids were smart they would change their name and phone number, she is an embarrassment.
Instead of that, no doubt they'll follow in her political machine family's footsteps and inflick themselves on future dem voters.
I'm reading a book ["Triple Cross"] about Fitzpatrick. Actually it is about the WOT. His actions in the past in the SDNY as prosecutor make what he is doing now with Libby just a repeat of things he has done in the past. Some of the chapters in this book are about Fitzpatrick and they are not complimentary.
He belongs in a Democratic administration, he has all the qualifications to work for Clinton.
It is not bias your witnessing. That implies an expectation of objectivity which does not exist when you realize the MSM is a network of marketing firms.
Tim is not a journalist, he is a pitchman for the DNC. Tim, Ron Popeil, Chef Tony... absolutly no difference with the exception that Ron and Tony are honest about their purpose.
IMHO.
LOL, I know it was a little off topic, but he really was screaming in the background while I was posting, and I just had to throw it in.
Nice to know I'm not the only person he bugs. "BIG TIME". There, that's a Cheney quote, now I'm back on topic : )
