Maybe you only want to hear echoes of your own thoughts. I don't. I enjoy some of the vigorous discussions we have here, and I'm really glad the site owner believes in freedom of speech more than you do.
Queen Isabelle and King Ferdinand lead the Reconqusitadors towards Granada. The Spanish Reconquista, in the Middle Ages, was the most successful example of an European answer to Muslim expansionism.
Never sleep with an enemy that would kill you in due course. Kill them, instead.
Free Speech?
Is that like when thousands documents get translated showing clear evidence of links between Saddam and terrorism then are ignored because of preconceved notions by moderates and liberals?
If jveritas is upset maybe its because he was counting on more supporty from his pears at Free Republic but fell on some deaf ears.
Many of us here have been supporting Jveritas from the start but others have an appearance of being lazy participants being played like a Stradivarius by the clear agenda of the lefts investment of failure in Iraq.

Oh so they preserved the concept of a "zero" and we now have the word "assassin" for a stealth murderer. Thanks Arabs, for just a bit more than nothing.
Damn Ay-rabs. Well let's see. You have the Coptic Christians of Egypt whose art laid the groundwork for the Christian art of later eras. Course they were Arabic. Then we have the Islamic Culture and the Medical Arts (course that's just our own government's opinion, damn Islamic lovers eh?..), and certain types of soap.Let's not forget contributions to astronomy, navigation, and physics. Preserved the concept of 'zero' and the word assassin?!? Don't make me laugh
Those Freedom loving descendants of Bedouin who have done everything possible to undermine the economies of Western Civilization ever since the day that someone showed them that it actually is a good idea to wipe their behinds before they broke bread with their guests and then slit their throats.
LOL, no bias there, no sirree!!
Call me old fashioned, but I hold the opinion that Isabella and Ferdinand were wimps and actually should be credited as the original inventors of the PC treatment of Islamic jihadists.
And then we come to your 'fine' link. Talk about stereotyping. Halfway down the page we've got this 'intelligent' statement...
With these baby creating factories not only did the Muslims breed like rats, but they also treated their wives and concubines (Muslim ladies) worse than cattleI'm going to believe a website that prints trash like that. Hmmmmm....seems I've heard that sort of rhetoric used other times in history by rather questionable men. But do please carry on. You and the site are making such a 'wonderful' argument...
I must say I do love the revisionism around El Cid. Tell us please what did El Cid do later in life? Oh wait here it is....
Díaz then offered his services to the Muslim ruler of Saragossa. The Cid served al-Mu'tamin and his successor, al-Musta'in II, loyally for almost a decade. He was victorious in battles against the Moorish king of Lérida and his Christian allies, as well as against a large Christian army under King Sancho Ramírez of Aragon.Whew, all sorts of intrigue. Doesn't sound like El-Cid really cared who he fought for. Unless, do you think? I bet it's some of that 11th century MSM trying to slur the good name of El-Cid!!In 1086, Alfonso was defeated by Almoravids from North Africa, and he overcame his antagonism to the Cid long enough to recall him from exile. Although his presence at Alfonso's court in July 1087 is documented, Díaz was soon back in Saragossa, and he did not participate in the ensuing conflict whereby the Almoravids threatened the survival of Christian Spain. Instead, the Cid began a long, complex political campaign to gain control of the wealthy Moorish kingdom of Valencia.
I suggest you get your history from places that don't have such an apparent agenda. Maybe you could also do a little research on just how exactly the Christians and Jews were treated under Moorish rule in Spain as well...
To each their own, april. A segment of FR is coming across as deeming themselves superior.
I see us all, including jveritas, as equals. I view this as a thread about jveritas being "special" rather than being a discussion re Iraq.
I've posted my comments re OIF, the WOT, our troops on other threads, where appropriate.
FReepers are all volunteers; what we post is voluntary and it's not obligatory on the part of others to acknowledge us.
Exactly.....3000 was not enough...the electorate is asleep still. Do we have to lose a Toledo or Chicago? If NY can elect Chuckie and Hitlery after 9/11, then the public is extremely stupid and we are spinning our wheels trying to protect Western Civilization. The idiots will just stop funding it.
You said -- "Exactly.....3000 was not enough...the electorate is asleep still. Do we have to lose a Toledo or Chicago? I believe that there is not an adequate response to the attack on America on 9/11. It was not the first attack. There have been a whole series of them before. It's only the one that made the most impact. And still, it's not enough. It's like people "woke up" for a couple of years and then rolled over back to sleep again. They don't recognize Islam for what it is -- a diabolical form of government, masquerading as a religion.
So, I'm just about convinced that we'll lose this present "battle" -- and that's what it's going to be, because the "war" will not be over yet. And what it will take is a *real big whack* by the enemy to really wake us up. And that big whack may be quite debilitating to our country, unfortunately. But, it will serve to put the entire country on a *war footing* and then we might fight it like a real war.
We do what we can right now, until everything gets shut down and pulled out. And then the big attack will come, if not sooner. Just wait and see...

Star Traveler
Thank you so much for saying this. It is, indeed, extremely discouraging to see so many of those posts here these days.
You of all people understand more than most of us after your extensive translations of the documents from Saddam. They are informative and ultimately invaluable to those of us who read them.
Becki
Thank you very much Becki.
We shall see :)
I will.
